The Birds of Benjakitti Park !!
I am not much at photographing birds not that i don't like them but they are as hard as photographing butterflies they never seem to stand still long enough but today i had a little more luck , i headed out towards a different part of Bangkok city to a park called Benjakitti Park also another green area in the heart of Bangkok city.
When i arrived at this park there was renovations and refurbishing going on in this park , i thought getting into this park was not going to be allowed today but the security guard said it was fine to enter so in i went.
The first bird i saw as i enter the park which was actually just outside the boundary of this park in a little swamp area stalking at something which was going to be his lunch was what looked to me a Blue Heron bird.
As i started walking along the concrete pathway i was looking out towards this man made lake that had been half drained if not more of it's water which was exposing some muddy sand banks and it was here were the birds were gathering looking for fish or worms to eat.
This white Egret bird was waiting patiently for it's catch and once spotted it's prey doesn't stand a chance these birds are so fast at fishing out there prey.
I only had my small Sony pocket camera with me and it was hard to focus in on these birds as they were a fair distance out in this man made lake which is quite a huge size lake actually.
This little fella was probably stalking a worm on land so i was able to capture him with a swift click of the trigger not sure what sort of bird but looks like a member of the Magpie birds.
And that's it for my bird hunting hope you enjoyed them and thank you @melinda010100 for for providing this community of #featheredfriends for us all 😊

We went there in February one day for the first time and we didn't see those big birds. They look like storks? That would have made our day. The park seemed to be in ruins in some parts. Other parts had some beautiful gardens that I won't forget.
You managed to get some good captures!
I was at this park once before the construction started but been there the other day like you said the lake is been worked on but the gardens still look great.
I think the reason for more birds been around because of the lake been drained of more then half of the water it's exposed more worms and fish to the birds so it's become a feeding ground for them at the moment and i think you could be right it maybe be a stork i myself don't really know much about bird names 😊
Thanks for dropping by have a great weekend 👍
Beautiful photos! I'd like to find out what that first bird is, I don't think it's a heron because the beak is quite different.
Thank you @keithboone i am not much on bird names but to me looked like a Heron but it could a Stork family member i have seen this bird in other parks of Thailand also it would be nice to know what sort of bird it really is let me know if you find out..Cheers have a great weekend 👍

I think that may be an Asian Openbill Stork. I looked it up and that's what I came up with! You did great with these bird pics!
