Eurasian blue tit

I don't shoot birds very often, though I would like to. Most of the time I pick just one lens and go out and it is most of the time my macro lens. No good to hunt birdies from a distance.

I was super lucky to catch few of them one late fall in the garden. I saw them around a day before on the trees around so I took my zoom lens and went hiding behind bushes. A bit of patience and warm clothes were needed, but it payed off. Finally few of them flew in to this Sea buckthorn tree we have in a garden.

Cyanistes caeruleus

Or to make it a lot simpler - Blue tit. One of the cutest and definitely my favourite of all Tits. It is smaller than the Great tit and the colours are lighter and softer. Small white and blue head with tiny black eye and more blue than black on the wings.
I think they are also more shy than the Great one. As I see them coming to the feeder, they get spooked easier and seem more cautious when approaching.

They can be found all over Europe throughout the year. They will overwinter in the same place looking for food closer to human homes. I am not sure what they were eating from that tree. They do like to feed on insects and spiders, but will also eat seeds and nuts, so please leave some of those in the feeders when it starts to snow.

At some point there were 4 of them on that tree jumping from branch to branch. No wonder they constantly look for food - they are hyper little things!

Can't wait for spring. This winter is so disappointing in terms of photography.

Cute birds😊, unfortunately we do not have such birds in Siberia, but we have their relative - the azure tit.
