Meeting with local ducks

They should be called mocking birds, not ducks.
Every time I pass them by I hear them laughing. Or maybe it is just me they laugh at :p

There are few pairs of those in the two ponds we have in the park in my hometown. And they seem to like it there, because we see them every year and every year there are baby ducklings.

I managed to shoot some of them, though they were very cautious with me getting closer. I would think they are used to people, especially that there is school right next to park with kids running around.
The males are way more colorful and like to show off the pretty shiny, blue feathers. This one was resting on the side of the pond.

It is a nice small park with very old trees, but the ponds could use some cleaning. They also could be a bit deeper as the water in the summer heats up a lot and turns green. I could probably walk from one side to the other and wouldn't wet my butt :p

Eventually I think I scared hem off a bit.
