Seagull chicks and results of PUD Guessing Contest

There are a lot of seagulls where I live. They're notorious for pinching people's food, especially when I have lunch outdoors by the seafront in the summer. If you're not careful, they come swooshing down helping themselves to your chips (that's fries to my friends across the pond) and that will be the end of your lunch.

Often, I can see the seagulls outside my living room window. I try to ignore them as the view outside isn't the best with the massive chimney in front of me. Today, hubby noticed three chicks on the rooftop, and two bigger ones, I guess mama and papa. I grabbed my mobile phone and tried to take a few shots. It was a bit difficult due to the angle, and because it had been raining in the afternoon. I had to dodge the raindrops on the window to get to the chicks, but I think the photos turned out quite nice. I like the contrast of the raindrops against the feathered friends, and edited a couple of the photos to black and white to match the weather.

RESULTS OF JUNE PUD GUESSING CONTEST

Last week I hosted a little guessing contest as I can't stop shilling my Weed Garden😁 I asked people to guess how many lettuces I had planted in my four baskets. There were so many leaves that I had to wait till I harvest them a couple of days ago, before I could peek underneath to count. These lettuces tasted sooooooo good.

Here are the four baskets, you can't see very well from the photos, but there are 10 lettuces in 1 basket, 11 in 2 of them, and 12 in the 4th. That's a total of 44 lettuces! I didn't realise I had packed so much in them, no wonder they were so leafy.

No one guessed the correct number of 44 plants, but there was one winner who guessed the nearest of 45 plants and that is @izaid.

Thank you so much! It was just a random guess and yet my second guess was too close in the correct answer. Thank you!

Nearly spot on but close enough to win, and that's all that matters!

Fun contest! Your lettuce looks delicious. Thanks for posting these young seagull photos to the #featheredfriends community! We don't see many seagulls where I live in South Central Wisconsin, so I think it is fascinating to see the chicks. Your photos are great. !tip

Thank you for setting up the Feathered Friends community Melinda, it's the first time I've posted from it. I can never get any good clear pictures of birds, so I'm glad I've succeeded at last 😀

It was funny because I´ve recently posted about seagull chicks too. I´ve noticed them in on the rooftops next to my home, although they are a bit far. You got to see them up close, you´re lucky.

They're pretty close to me and if I could climb out of the window I might just be able to get on to the rooftop, not that I would ever do that!!!! Now you mention it, I might keep an eye on their development, it might be quite interesting, but they're really noisy though!

Keep shilling your weed garden! I might consider gardening anytime soon because I can't travel and I'm nearly out of travel content to post so I guess I'll resort to some other hobby just to keep my blog going. 😂

I'm still a newbie too! 😂
I'm more like 50/50 chance of winning. There's a lot to learn and watch out. The placement of the cards is important. Sometimes I hate myself for not figuring out why I lost. 😂
