Feathered Friends 001: Peacock or not?

(Edited)

Hello everyone, this is my first post under #FeatheredFriends, I hope you will like this post and at least will learn a little from the facts that I'll be sharing.

I got these photos when we had the chance to visit the Ultra Winds Forest Park in Bukidnon, I really enjoyed looking at the peacock although I was not really sure if it's really a peacock LOL.

Peacock or not?

Maybe a lot of you are wondering why even if it's so clear I still asked in my title if it's a peacock or not. the reason is that even if "peacock" is commonly used for both sexes but technically peacock refers to the male bird, females are actually called "Peahens" and both of them are called "Peafowl".

Peacocks have a vibrant eye-shaped marking of a different color, in my photos blue is more prevalent.

A peacock actually uses his train to attract the attention of the female peacock or the peahen. While facing the peahen, a peacock lifts its feathers upward and spreads them out to make a giant fan, so that makes this one in the photo a male bird.

Peacock is a symbol of immortality

Ancient Greeks believed that the flesh of peafowl did not decay after death, so it became a symbol of immortality. A peacock drinking from a vase is also a symbol of eternal life.

The peacock is still used in the Easter season. The 'eyes' in its feathers symbolize the all-seeing Christian God.

So that's all for my first #FeatheredFriends post, I hope to be able to submit more in the future.

Great info about Peacocks! You may want to ask permission from @barbara-orenya before using her lovely feather dividers on your posts. They are her wonderful art work and belong to her. Thanks for posting to #featheredfriends!

Hello there @barbara-orenya hope its just okay with you because I used your lovely feather dividers, I'm sorry I was supposed to put a source credit but its not good to see below a little image that is why I decided not to I should have mentioned you at the bottom of my blog instead.

Anyway, this is not the first time I copied different dividers I found over hive, and this is the first time my attention was called for doing so, I promise I won't use it anymore. I'm sorry...

I had noticed them and I was a bit like "wow...maybe a asking would have been appreciated" and then forgot about it, but as I can see, my dear @melinda010100 is such an attentive friend that I have nothing to fear that my art be "borrowed" indeed...😊

@long888 I always appreciate to be asked, so now you know and there is no harm done 😉 I totally understand that a mention under the dividers would be ugly and non-sense, and now you realize you can do otherwise and just mention with a line at the end.

I have nothing against other using my art, this is a joyful art that loves to be shared, only thing is people have to mention the artist, always, it is a good habbit to take and keep forever...LoL...this is not for my ego, this is for people to find me back if they want me to do art for them, as this is my livelihood
