Little Birds for Feathered Friends

Two most common little birds in urban areas and parks accross Europe are the great tit and the house sparrow.

You can recognize the great tit easily with its yellow and black colours and white cheeks.

Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds has initiated online voting in 2012 and among 12 birds, the great tit was chosen as a symbol of our capital city Sofia.

The house sparrow, the humble little bird sometimes is almost invisible blending with the environment.

I found this couple nesting in a hole of a wall.

While great tits are nice singers, the house sparrows are rather noisy.

I wish i could sit in the park and watch them and of course practising making better photos, but this will not be possible for the time being.

Thanks, glad you like them. I pass by this wall every day and I have seen the birds there but never had a chance to capture them before. Now with the new lens it is much easier.

I have Canon EOS 1100D and bought EFS 55-250 mm lens that helps to zoom.
For a beginner like me, it suits well.

thanks! i think, 50-200 is a good and very fruitful focus range ( I have 100-300, myself)

These photos are just awesome Neli!! My favorite is the house sparrow on the twig. I love the way the sun is shining on the feathers! 💖

Good shots! But pay attention to sparrows. These are different pecies of sparrows. In the first three photos is house sparrow, and in the rest - eurasian tree sparrow. He has white cheeks with black spots and a brown cap on his head.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comment.
That is something I did not know. For some reason I thought the sparrows here are only one type. Now I will know.

Thank you so much. 😀
I don't know how long it will take but won't be soon enough with this bloody virus.
Shame, when the weather is turning nice to be stuck at home.
