Hello bird lovers, after a few weeks of inactivity in the community, I am back again sharing my experiences with you.

On this occasion, I want to show you a photographic series made of a white wagtail, while she was preening while resting on top of a roof.

Birds are very clean animals that spend much of the day cleaning their plumage, it is curious to see the movements they take, and the flexibility they pose when grooming, they seem contortionist.

Some birds have a gland (uropygeal gland), which generates a kind of oil, that is why we see that they rub their heads over their plumage, as can be seen in the photographs.

Not only do they clean their plumage because it is dirty as most of us think, they also do it to preserve thermal insulation, and prevent diseases.
