New spring season feathered arrivals!

Oh yes! They are back for the breeding season. These are two "Blue Cranes" (Anthropoides paradiseus)

We took a short drive to our local airfield and on the way we stopped to take some photos from our car of the surrounding nature and wild birds on the farms.
As usual we were pleasantly surprised!

091.JPG

A Guinea fowl took the lead here to show the Blue Crane a better feeding spot 😃

350.JPG

The above photo is just to give you an idea about the road that we were traveling on!

123.JPG

This little plover like "Capped Wheatear" (Oenanthe pileata) popped up to have a look at us!

221.JPG

The Wheatear's mate was close by doing her thing!

340.JPG

At the same time a "Black headed Heron" (Ardea melanocephala) came flying over in the sharp sunlight!

Then we stopped on the road next to a small farm dam!

355.JPG

A little spring youngster floated on the water.

362.JPG

That had to be one of the parents nearby.

366.JPG

Finally here's a view of the dam and you can see three ducks in this picture!

And that's All Friends!

We had a coffee at the airfield and a chat to the manager, as he is a friend. I will show you some photos that I took there in another post.
We hope that you have enjoyed this one!

Thank you kindly Hannes.

We even have the Blue Cranes birds stamped on one of our coins and I have done a detailed post on them last year.
So I don't want to repeat the detailed information, as cheetah might come and knock on my door. I don't want to lie and say nobody is at home hahaha.

I love the landscapes here, especially the vines that run in lines towards the mountains and those old majestic farm houses with the old Cape Dutch Gables at the foot of the mountains also make for great pictures!

Imagine what this will look like when the vines are fully grown with green leaves and grapes in December!

354 (2).JPG

Taken today and I will take some more in December!

Cheers and thanks!

Yeah, I know how our vineyards in Lower Austria look like, and it might look about the same 😊

Cheetah can be annoying sometimes, I believe, but over all it is a very good thing.

Ah, that's great, so I don't need to send you a photo in December lol.

I agree with you that Cheetah delivers an essential service and there are also others like hivewatchers and guiltyparties that know us, so I was only joking lol.

No, you don't need to send me a photo, but you could make a nice post 😉

I had twice a problem with Steemcleaners on the other blockchain, but I could convince them that I never use other content than my own, and if I do I tell my source (Wikipedia).

I normally send you a photo of a post that I do Hannes Lol.

Yeah, I have also an once as they warned me about a photo that was published on Facebook. So I looked and there the photo was, published on the previous day.

So they were right, BUT the photo on FB was published by me on my own FB page.
No more problems since then!

Cheers and thanks!

Yeah, the bot is very strict, but luckily there are people behind who you can talk to 😊

Yes and the bonus is that they are decent people Hannes.
No rudeness or crudeness and one can indeed talk to them.

Cheers and thanks!

Me too and after having had an intensive look at us they even gave us a "verified" badge lol.

I still have to figure out how to copy all of our badges onto the bottom of our posts like you do hahaha

Cheers and thanks!

Yes thank you, we also had a quiet and peaceful day. No dramas and just stayed at home, as we were thinking to go to the beach, but eventually gave up on the idea.
Yesterday we were a lovely new place to meet with Marian's aunt and I simply have to go back there Hannes.

They also farm strawberries there and as we left we saw some pickers in the fields, so we will go to buy some fresh ones there. It is very near to the other side of the mountain that I showed you with the grape vines.

Cheers and thanks!

Of course you have to back there if you like that new place, and fresh strawberries are one more reason additional to take photos of the obviously beautiful landscape 🙂

Did you know that there is a hiking gorge in that mountain Hannes?
No, of course you don't. One can hike from the backside of the mountain through the gorge that is a mini mountain pass, right over to the the front side that enters a nature reserve.

Such a pity that I cannot walk that far at the moment, but maybe one day when the knee and the back is fixed I will do it as the views must be magnificent.

Cheers and thanks!

I hope you will be able to hike through this gorge, Zac, because hiking through a gorge is something I enjoy 😀

And I hope you take many photos 😉

2020 was no good hiking year for me, but therefore I want to hike double in 2021 😁

Wonderful creatures my friend and we are so happy to see them again, although they are not the same pair that I posted last year on the farm with their baby.
Maybe we will also get this couple's baby in a while .

Thank you!

Sorry, don't know how I missed this.

Yes, baby birds always remind me how precious life is and thankfully we have saved many of the little ones over time.
Life is fragile and so few of us realize that; as each morning when we open our eyes we were given grace for a new day.

Instead we label days with names and hate some of them.
Such is life my friend!

Hope that your Sunday will be good!
