What to do on a very hot day.

It is 31Celsius today under a hot African sun.

So let the birds show us what they do to escape the heat.

A happy Friday to all and I have two stories in one here for you today. We have recently entered the hot summer season and the nice cool days are now history.
Time now for the severe heats to return and they reckon that it will continue to get hotter until the month of April.
So yes, we are in for some frying in the sun.
But let me show you what the birds do.

This happy Egyptian goose was on his way to deliver a message somewhere.

083.jpg

Say fellas, why don't you go and cool off under the sprinklers he said to the Hadeda Ibis birds.
099.jpg

Nope, the leader answered, you know that we are scared of flying and if we are wet then those crows can get at us, so rather have lunch with us.
101.jpg

And of course the crows were also having a ball under the sprinklers.
084.jpg

Here they waited for the sprinkler to swing in their direction.
087.jpg

And as soon as it reaches them, they jump up and fly through the water.
088.jpg

Then they go and cool off under a tree until the next round.
106.jpg

So hot here that even the clouds try to hide behind the mountains :)
104.jpg

Strange we are as people, as during winter we complain about the cold and during summer we complain of the heat. But yes we have reason to as the heat thickens our blood so much that we cannot think clearly.
Today we delivered donated bottles of water at a charity for their children and I lost my prized camera somewhere.

So we got into our car and retraced our route asking everyone and anyone if they had seen my camera.
Nobody had and we were advised to open a case at the police station. We had to go back home first to fetch the camera's papers and now don't laugh :)
Marian saw the camera in it's bag sitting next to our old telephone on a tray in the dining room.
So I know that the bugger was laughing at us.
I blame the heat hehehe.

And That's All Friends.

Glad your camera was home safe😄
I prefer the heat 100 times over the frrezing cold, but it sure does beat you.

Hahaha, it was a real fright Lady Jo, as I am married to my camera.
I like the average temps between the heat and the cold, so anything between 18C and 24C is good for me.
Tomorrow (Saturday) we are set for 38C and it's going to be a scorcher.

Sizzling hot, dog got an outdoor shampoo treatment, good rinse of huge shake and rested peacefully under the air conditioner for the rest of the day, yup we in hiding once again.

Sprayer in the garden many years ago used to attract so many birds in to enjoy a shower, now down to bird pond only, water is far too expensive.

Good to hear it was in the heat of the moment you thought you had lost old faithful, all's well that ends well 😂!

We in for another night of rock n roll with Zeus planting electrical bolts again after this sweltering day....

@tipu curate - keep cool!

Not very pleasant here today, but thankfully I still managed to get some shots.
We had to go and collect bottles of water from a donor and after loading the first 10 boxes it felt like I was in a bath with the sweat. So we loaded 138 and took it to a partner charity for the school children that they serve.
We also partner with their feeding scheme and they run our coding project.

There is also no sprayer here and only the bird bath as you are right about the expense of the water.

I was feeling a divorce coming on and in the meantime she sat smiling at me on a tray. What a relief.

Enjoy the lightning show and I am certainly jealous.

Thank you kindly for the #tipu and you will have to tell me on Discord how to join it, as I like to give back.

Water is an ongoing problem, no water to schools still baffles me as to how infrastructure was never properly done into many smaller rural places, or left to go to rack and ruin.

No luck watching lightning show with Woody, he takes all the attention even when sitting like a statue quivering.

Another hot day!

Most if not all of the money for infrastructure in the rural areas has disappeared.
Expensive pipes are laying in the grass rusting away over the years and it's all in a sham.

Shame, I feel sorry for Woody and yes you are doing right by him.

Corner will only be turned when people realize they have the right to go out and change the situation.

Now you know as well as I do that will never happen Lady Joan.
People are only interested in survival, and until that mindset changes we have very little hope.

The crow flying through the water will be perfect for the contest, great work 🙌

I'm glad your camera was safe :) Do be careful!

It is 31Celsius today under a hot African sun.

I would rather have that. We had -7 °C in the morning, and 3°C in the afternoon in Hungary.

Happy New Year.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Today we had a max of 37C and I really hate the days when 40C + arrive.
Mind you -7C is also damn cold.

A Happy New year also to you and I hope that many blessings will appear in your new year.

Stay warm my friend.

How did you say? The heat thickens our blood so much that we cannot think clearly - you're doing right by blaming the heat, but ... LOL 🤣 !LOLZ
At first it was a real shock for me when you wrote you lost the camera and then I had to smile ... smile from one ear to the other 🤣

It's lovely how the birds have fun with the water.

!PIZZA and !BEER - sounds like a nice dinner :)

"But..." Hahaha I know exactly what you mean and let's not go there 🤣 !LOLZ

Oh yes, I was so happy that I found my camera that a smile was on my face when I typed the post.
Glad that you also had a big smile 🤣

Yep, the birds are full of tricks to escape the heat 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Ha, that's funny. We have hot weather in summer, I put a container of clean water by the window near the feeder . But no one drinks it, birds prefer to drink from muddy puddles🤷‍♂️

Somehow the birds like to drink in open spaces my friend. So that they can instantly fly away when a threat appears 😉
