Sooty Robin (Turdus nigrescens)

Sooty Robin (Turdus nigrescens) is possibly one of the most common birds in the highlands of Costa Rica, but at the same time the most friendly and photogenic. Although it can be seen throughout the day, its peaks of activity occur in the morning and at the end of the day, when it tends to approach people in search of food or simple curiosity.

They produce a small song which allows them to be distinguished when approaching and they tend to remain practically immobile when they are near a person, which makes them ideal for, literally, taking a micro photographic session.
