Wet Birds: Shaking Off The River Water

Theme - WET BIRDS

This is a young Great Blue Heron shaking the water off his wings

Cormorants swimming in the water of the Montague River.

One cormorant comes out of the water looking for a place to dry off and heads towards the post attached to the wharf.

The post is a perfect spot to spread his wings and let the sun dry him.

The eagle gets his tail feathers wet wading the river looking for lunch. He knows there are eels and fish in this area.

Birds enjoying the water always spectacular to watch them. So clever in fishing for food then finding a spot to enjoy drying out in the sunlight.

Oh yes, these are some nice wet birds. I like the young Heron most - a beautiful bird, but the eagle wading in the river looks also cool 😀

Terrific collection Jo!! The first photo and the last one made me chuckle..silly birds! I love seeing the Cormorants also. I usually only see them here at the Conowingo. Too chilly and or slippery here for much walking around so I'm enjoying even more seeing your photos! Have a wonderful evening!! 💕

Hi Dee, I’m glad you liked my selections. The great blue heron and eagle are special birds to me.

It can be dangerous going out when it’s slippery. It may be chilly here tomorrow. We had lovely mild weather but snowstorm predicted for tomorrow.

Thanks. Yes I even caught him with an eel in his claws. I had posted a picture of it in one of my posts.
