HOW FIXED IS YOUR HEART?

“My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise” (Psalm 57:7 KJV)

Life can be very interesting as we move on, especially with the Lord in your life. Times come when we get to doubt so many things about God, the faith and the things of God. They say “life happens”, pain comes and grief comes like a wave sometimes. And often we ask “Lord where are you?” or “Lord why did you let that happen to me?” David had these and more.

Not very loved by his family, easily forgotten amongst his brothers, was not remembered when the prophet Samuel visited and became the errand boy of the family – All of these typified David’s situation. After God helped him to defeat Goliath, David became really hated and hunted by Saul – moving from cave to cave and bush to bush.

He became accustomed to pain and acquainted with grief. It was in the midst of all these parody and paradox of life that he made the statement; “my heart is fixed, O Lord, my heart is fixed”. What he said in essence was, “no matter what I see or do not see, no matter what I get to pass through in life from now on, my heart is fixed on you Lord”.

Your heart is fixed when you can still praise God no matter what is up or down. Your heart is fixed when God is no less deserving of your praise because of what you are going through. I will never doubt the power, existence, love and will of God for me no matter what. If my praise will not flow for what He has done for me, I will make it a sacrifice to Him from my life. The enemy will throw all kinds of things at you just to make you doubt God, but I pray for you today; may your heart be fixed in Jesus Name.
