MARRIAGE BRINGS FAVOUR

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD” (Proverbs 18:22 KJV)

It is almost as if we are not hearing well, when we read scriptures such as the one above. Is it true, did God really say when we find a wife we really found a good thing and obtain favour from the Lord? This has not been the case for the most part, going by what we hear from men and who have been married for a while. Rather, many wives have been accused of witchcraft due to the sharp drop in the business gains of their husbands soon after their wedding. Many men have said that their misfortune began shortly after they married their wives. This is contrary to what God said in our text above. So where does this problem come from?

Getting married by itself does not bring you favour. When you find a wife, you would have found a good thing, but whether you obtain favour from the Lord has to do with how you handle the wife you have found. Manhandling of your wife could rob you of both the favour you were supposed to have through her and the one you had before marrying her.

Here are the following ways to obtain and maximize favour from your wife:

  • Treat her well. Honour her the way you would handle a delicate material; like breakable plates.

  • Be gentle with her both in words and deeds.

  • Make out plenty of time to give her your undivided attention.

  • Make sure that the communication between you too is rich enough.

  • Show her occasional favours that would shock her. If you must obtain favour through her then you must sow seeds of favour into her life, and then the favour God put in her for you will begin to pour out in your direction. Life will begin to favour you beyond what you expected in Jesus Name.
