REMEMBERING GOD WHO ANSWERS IN TIME OF DISTRESS

“And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went” (Genesis 35:3 KJV)

The journey of the man of God was directed by God who said “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make there an altar unto God”. (Genesis 35:1) Jacob did not waste time, he obeyed. The similar order was given to his forefather, Abraham, “Get thee out of thy kindred and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee...So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken”. (Genesis 12:1).

To obey God is to knit with Him for more blessings to follow. (Genesis 35:9-12). Extra promises accompanied the order, like “I will be with thee...” His name later was changed, fruitfulness accompanied and a company of nations followed.
How good it is to obey the Lord.

Ask the Lord to help you to obey Him more than ever before for you fruitfulness, Amen.
