TAKING CITIES

“From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us” (Deuteronomy 2:36 KJV)

God has not called us to be a light to the church, neither has He called us to be local champions. We have not been called to operate in one local small corner like that, no. We have been called to be light to world, we have been called to be salt in this earth, the world is our stage, not a little pulpit in a building. And since the world is made of nations, cities and villages, we then have to begin to think in terms of cities and nations. That was why God said that no city will be too strong for us.

Let us look at a few people who operated in this dimension:

John the Baptist: Mark 1:4-5 KJV; “John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. 5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins”. John literally took two cities captive to his message.

Jesus Christ: (Mark 1:33 KJV) “And all the city was gathered together at the door”.
(Acts 8:5, 8 KJV)
I have presented to you enough evidence on how God wants us to take cities. Right from the Old Testament in our text, no city was too strong for them. Then we saw that cities went out to see John the Baptist, the whole city gathered at the door of Jesus, and then Philip caused a whole city to rejoice. We will not be an exception in Jesus Name. God wants cities to be saved and by so doing save nations. We receive the grace for this in Jesus Name.
