Doing Good
Amos 5:14-15; Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.
As Christians seeking truth, justice and fairness should be one of our number one priorities in life. We are taught by the scriptures to be good, to do good and to help or teach others to be good and by so doing direct them to good that they may see the light which we have been privileged to see.
But many a time we see evil happen, bad things been done, and we keep quite, not just that. Sometimes we even participate in these bad deeds ourselves just so we do not become outliers as everyone may be doing it. The Christian way is not the worldly and so the scriptures say we should not be conformed to this world.
One way that we can overcome the peer pressures and the many negative influences in this life is to have the Holy Spirit, he is to be our comforter and guide. When you have the Holy Spirit he draws you attention when you go wayward and continues to admonish and strengthen us in our Christian faith and life.
And so brethren in concluding, we ought to pray and deliberately do our very best to been good that we may enjoy the grace and favor of the Lord on our lives as we continue to reach new heights in life. Thanks for reading and have a blessed time.
