CHRIST OCCUPY OUR PLACE

avatar

From the Bible we know that we humanity were removed from the glory of God for our sins and disobedience to God but God in his infinite mercy sent his son Jesus Christ to pay for our sins and to take our rightful place for our rebellions, it is Jesus said he came to die for all of us to save us from condemnation and give us eternal life since the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary paid for our debts, for none of us could pay because we are by nature sinners.

Romans 5: 6-11
6 For Christ, when we were still weak, died in his time for the wicked.
7 Certainly, hardly any will die for a righteous; yet, it could be that some dared to die for the good.
8 But God shows his love for us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 For much more, being already justified in his blood, by him we will be saved from anger.
10 For if, being enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.
11 And not only this, but we also glory in God for the Lord our Jesus Christ, for whom we have now received reconciliation.
Reina Valera 1960 (RVR1960)

These verses argue that we did not have to present ourselves as righteous before God before He sent Jesus Christ to earn our salvation because none of us deserved it. In this God showed his love for us that even though sinners Christ died for each one of us in order to save his creation.
And it is in this way that we can have access to the kingdom of God and have communion with our heavenly father.

By the work that Christ did on the cross we were reconciled to Him and saved from eternal damnation, for the Bible tells us that because we all sinned we were destitute of God's glory.

This context also shows us the gospel of God's grace by which we are saved, for his word says that by grace we are saved and not by work so that no one will boast.

Ephesians 2: 8-9
8 For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God;
9 not for works, so that no one will boast.
(RVR1960)

By the grace of God we have access to his presence and the opportunity to thank him by giving back with gratitude what God did for us by obeying his word and living for Him.

@mildreduh, when we understand this great truth we live with gratitude to God for giving us so much especially eternal life, because we really did not deserve so much but God loved us in such a way that by grace he has given us his mercy.
