Training a Child or Living with a Child?
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Training is said to be act of impartation and acquisition skills and the result of good social upbringing.
A child could live with a parent or guidance and not be trained. Training involves the application of b deliberate actions towards a child to bringing out the desireable learning outcome socially and morally. Let us borrow a study from the family not prophet Eli.
1 Samuel 2:23-24
And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.
Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD'S people to transgress.(KJV)
Eli had sons that didn't follow after bhisbsteps because he did not to ensure them such that he only made advice one form of appeal. The scripture says, " spare the rod and spoil the child". If a child is above instructions or chooses the path of life to himself while under the parents watch, that child is living with the parent and not being trained!
on the other hand, Samuel is a perfect example of a child that was trained! He diligently followedt in the path that he was positioned to follow and became the greatest prophet not his time! Non of his words fell to the ground.
Is your children/ Ward living with you or being trained? Make a conscious effort today in the training of any child that crosses your path today for a better tomorrow.
