Ares leads ERC Rally Islas Canarias 2020 after day one

Hi, friends!

Spanish rally champion from 2017 Ivan Ares leads the last round of European Rally Championship called Rally Islas Canarias after day one.

It was all about tires choice today and because lots of foreign dirvers chose bad, locals like Ares did the right job and took the correct tires so now he leads after day one driving his Hyundai i20 R5 rally car.

The surprise for me is the 2nd placed Frenchman Adrein Fourmaux who drives for M-Sport Ford. His previous outings in the ERC were not that successful so I guess he took correct tire choice for day one.

What about top guys?!
ERC leader Alexey Lukyanuk also took bad tire choice for the first loop of stages and now he is only 8th, only 1.7s behind his main rival Oliver Solberg who is in the 7th place overall.

Rally Hungary winner Andreas Mikkelsen is only 11th at the moment, also because of the bad tire choice.

Tomorrow we have another aprx 100km of the special stages and anything can happen.
