BREAKING NEWS : Suninen to compete with Hyundai Rally2 car at WRC Rally Catalunya 2021

Hi, friends!

Another Flying Finn in the world of rallying with name Teemu Suninen had very turbulent summer after M-Sport Ford team turned their back to him.

OK, they didn't fire him but delegated him into the WRC2 class after years of competing at the top pf the sport with them.

No one lasts forever and this kind of professionalism can be very cruel in sport. If you are unable to deliver the results, you will be replaced just like that. That's just professionalism, nothing else.

Teemu Suninen had some results in the last few years but to be sincere, that M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC is not the best car on the WRC market so it's not that easy to deliver the results with the heavy burden of probably not having the next rally in front of you at highest class of sport.

To be honest, Suninen had his outings this season but just couldn't deliver the results. And team didn't want some miracles, they wanted finished rallies from him. Their other driver who shared the WRC car with Suninen is Adrien Fourmaux who also didn't help in this story.

We all know that Sunien is from Finland and Fourmaux was wondering why he can' compete there in a WRC car instead of Suninen. It's just crazy to bury your team mate like that. But Fourmaux wants the best for his own career, nothing else.

Formaux started to test their hybrid 2022 Rally1 car some time ago and that was obvious sign that he is in their future plans. Suninen knew at that moment that if he wasn't invited for a test in their future technology, that he won't be the part of their team in 2022. That's why he quit his driver's job for the rest of the season and started to look somewhere else.

First he landed a drive with Movisport ran Volkswagen Polo R5 for WRC Rally Finland in Rally2 class. Now he is offered a drive for WRC Catalunya Rally in a Hyundai i20 Rally2 car after it was announced that Oliver Solberg will driver their WRC car at this rally.

This means that Suninen will drive Solberg's car and if he will show some pace and finish on the top, there is a chance for something more for Teemu Suninen, At least he has some kind of a drive and that is the most important for a rally driver.

Let the best win - as always...
