Mikkelsen won WRC2 class at Rally Acropolis 2021

Hi, friends!

Marco Bulacia did a great rally this weekend in Greece, led for two days but in the end Andreas Mikkelsen won the WRC2 class and extended the championship lead of Mads Ostberg who'x Citroen developed some technical problems with the transmission because he had only rear wheel drive after first day of the rally.

Mikkelsen also had a new co-driver for this rally and it was Eliott Edmondson who used to co-drive for Gus Greensmith. Edmondson is under the contract with M-Sport Ford and if they released him to co-drive for Mikkelsen who is a Škoda driver, then it is something very nice in that story.

I already wrote something about this. Mikkelsen already tried M-Sport's Ford Fiesta WRC through the JanPro Racing team from Finland while testing the Pirelli rubber at Sardinia.

No one can say if that was a Pirelli test or he wanted to try the Ford before signing any contract with M-Sport Ford for 2022. I would say that there are pretty good chances to see Mikkeslen at M-Sport Ford for the next season but we must wait to see where will go every potential driver.

What is the most important thing for Mikkelsen is that he scored his 3rd win of the season in WRC2 class and now he leads but championships - WRC2 and ERC but with bigger margins.

He has a big competition in the European Rally Championship in ALexey Lukyanuk who drives for Citroen with their C3 Rally2 car and he is twice ERC champion and super quick driver.

Dani Sordo will also be at Azores Rally in Portugal this weekend to represent Hyundai with their newly homologated i20 Rally2 car.

Mikkelsen has a pretty nice vlog on YouTube and I wrote about it. He posted the new vlog from Acropolis Rally with exclusive footage. Please take a look and enjoy...
