No hybrid power for WRC2 cars in next developmemt phase

Hi, friends!

It is time of the season when some development decisions must be implemented for the following season and it is the same way from the championship dates, from 1973.

Technology progresses all the time and that's pretty normal, if you ask me. But it is kinda difficult to follow everything that comes in the automotive industry.

We all know that Formula 1 (and other motorsport venues) implemented hybrid power into their motorsport activities. And it is unbelievable that World Rally Championship cars waited for so long with this implements.

The thing is that rally cars drive very close to the public and fans and there are accidents at every event so it was difficult to see how to manage a safety of the drivers and spectators. No one can say what to expect from battery and hybrid unit i the cases of super heavy shunts.

Motorsport is interesting for spectating but when you are involved in an accident, it is not that easy. I was involved in an accident where car was upside-down lying on the roof and gasoline was leaking into the cockpit. Just imagine hybrid power unit in this story. It could be very dangerous to go off into the trees.

Engineers know their job so I imagine that they solved all this problems I write about. It is also very expensive the World Rally cars of the new generation with the new name called Rally1 (just like the class where they compete). Top class is very expensive for privateers to compete but the following class - Rally2 is more attractive to the drivers who can't compete. at the top of the sport.

There was a discussion that Rally2 cars should also be electrified but FIA today revealed that there won't be hybrid ower implemented into the Rally2 class for at least three years. I think that this is a good decision by the FIA, manufacturers and WRC promoter.

Yeah, drivers who want to compete in the World Rally Championship must have the class available economically of competing.

Teams like Škoda, Citroen, Hyundai or M-Sport (Volkswagen stopped development of their Polo R5) can breath easier and concentrate onto the fine tuning of their existing Rally2 cars.
