Writing a Movie Review on Scrobble.life - A HowTo Guide
This morning I was struck by surprise. Apparently I did not qualify for the contest I have decided to participate in! And I was so sure I followed all the requirements: The film review I posted was over 250 words long, it mentioned the contest and its creator @wiseagent , and it was properly published in the corresponding Scrobble.life community. Ahhhh... actually it was the last part where I went wrong. The post should be published using the Scrobble.life website! It never even occurred to me, until I saw today's update.
Posting a Movie Review on Scrobble.life
Is it even possible to publish a review right from the website? Sure it is! Once you enter https://scrobble.life/ you need to LOGIN (top right-hand corner), ideally using your Hive Keychain.
Then you need to select a movie you want to review. Clearly, it has to be a known movie that can be found in the databases. The one I wanted to post about was made in 1995 by a very famous Serbian director. So when I clicked on Search a movie and typed in the title Underground, ... I was highly disappointed that the search came back with No results. Thankfully, it reminded me that I could just paste the URL from the TMDB or Letterbox database. A quick search later I had the right URL and sure enough, Scrobble.life found the film immediately.
Now I only have to click on Write full review and copy-paste what I wrote on another more convenient editor, such as PeakD. However, I'm just noticing, it's really not necessary either, as everything is the same. I can even drag images into it, make links, bold, italics, lists, etc. It's just that I can't see the final result on the right side.
Was this guide even necessary? In retrospective probably not. However, my previous self from four days ago sure would have appreciated it, before posting my film review. So... let me keep this guide for the record, and now I'll go ahead and write a bit about one of my all-time favorite movies: Underground.
