Hi guys, hope you are all doing great. It has been a busy week here and I have been off on and on. You know that prayer you say in order to always have things to do...get busy and get work done and when you eventually do get the job or work you then miss the times you had free time...well that is me right now. Which by the way, no matter how stressful it might be is a good thing.

So I met a friend I used to be very close with, we were excited to see each other after a long time so we decided to catch up for a little while over drinks. We talked for a while then I asked her why we stopped talking to each other....I was like "What happened? Why did we ever loose touch with each other". The reply that followed shocked me...according to her, she felt she was the one always trying to reach out to me and she got tired of it thinking she is forcing it.

I on the other hand was going through a funny phase where I was into myself...I had a lot going in my life, so I needed that time or space but if she had reached out I wouldn't have declined.

Now why the story?

There are times we either assume things about someone or give up trying to reach out to them without knowing what they are going through or dealing with at the moment. We give up friendships due to those assumptions, waiting for the other person to reach out first without knowing what is going on with that person.

I feel friendship should be more than that...if she had reached out, I might have explained things to her. There are people having hard times and would really appreciate that one phone call from you...not necessarily because you have the solutions to their ongoing problem but because you actually care.

So what do you do, reach out to that friend you promised to call last Christmas, call that relative....just reach out and spread positivity as much as you can. You may not have all the solutions to their problems but let them know you care.
