Indeed! As one of my teachers pointed out to me, many years ago:
The facts don't stop being "facts" just because you don't like them!

Yeah. Your teacher is right!
But there are cases, I am ignoring the facts and the truth. And continue believing what I used to believe without knowing it is hurting me more. Making life more complicated.
