Shame on the government for letting people die of hunger!

This is perhaps more of a rant than a proper post. I have always thought of myself as a rather intelligent person, but I must say that I am very confused right now. I don’t know if I’m Jack or Joe.

We are still under lockdown and SUPPOSEDLY  changed from stage 5 to stage 4 on the 30th of April.

Really?

Definitely a NOT.

There is hardly any difference between the current stage 5 and the new stage 4.  I can understand the situation and I can understand why they do this but the consequences are far beyond what they think.

Perhaps we do have a little bit more freedom when it comes to shopping because we are now allowed to buy winter clothes…. but beware if you need underpants!!

Apparently, underpants is not an essential piece of clothing!

We are now also allowed to buy baby products and blankets, and exercise is allowed between 5 am and 9 am.  There is also a curfew in place from 8 pm till 5 am in the morning.

Winter clothes make sense. It is winter after all.  The jogging in the early hours…. not so much.

Why on earth would the government send out citizens in the coldest hours of the day? Imagine the logic behind this.  It is nearly winter and with the flu already going around, on top of Covid-19 this is not a very logical step.

The most sensible part of this all is that you not allowed to exercise further than 5 kilometers from your residence!

What is the logicality of that? How on earth will they know if you run further than that?

I am not a runner, and I am not sure that this is going to be something that I will take up in the near future, so according to me I am still stuck where I am even if it feels as if I want to run into the hills.

The worst of all is that no one is allowed to buy cigarettes or alcohol.

Why not?

The president said that he will allow the sales of tobacco products, but then a female minister overruled his decision and now it is NOT allowed.

No Mr. President, we really respected you for a while, but if you are going to allow this, then you have lost plenty of votes!

Can you even imagine what is going on in the houses of people due to withdrawal symptoms from alcohol and nicotine? It has now gone so far, that people are making their own wine and beer these days, and it is a better option to smoke weed because it is not a tobacco product.

The black markets are roaring!

The government is forcing people to take part in criminal activities. Not everyone that smokes or drink are criminals. In this country, if there is a need, then someone in this country will create an opportunity!

I won’t be surprised if the government sits behind the black market and the sales of cigarettes and alcohol.

This virus is not only taking our sanity now but also our human rights.

We are not even allowed to go sit at the beach IN our cars.

I am allowed to converse with someone in the shop, but I’m not allowed to talk to my neighbor.  This is beyond ridiculous!

It’s not as if I want to take over the world and start taking advantage of everything and everyone around me.

I am actually quite happy here in my little secluded space away from the rest of the world, but I would really like to make my own decision regarding my health, weight, food intake, and drug intake.

People are dying of hunger because they can’t work!

How sensible is that?

My gardener phoned me yesterday and asked for money for food.  He is not allowed to work, so he can’t look after his family.  How fair is that? The government is supposed to supply food to the people in need but NO they rather steal the food that is supposed to go to the poor.

Shame on you people! Shame on you!

Let the people go back to work so they can support their families.  I don't even want to go into the economy or the number of jobs lost.  Let them practice social distancing and wear masks.  They are willing to take their chances!

This is sooooo not funny anymore!

For six weeks we have followed and stuck by the government rules.  It was rough but we survived and now we are back to square one.  I am ashamed of my government.

This is awful. I've been constantly reminding everyone that people have a right to choose. If we wear masks in public and don't feel feverish, it's perfectly safe to go out. Unless we have contacted a suspected carrier or have done a high-risk activity like flying abroad, the lockdown shouldn't exist for most people who aren't vulnerable. I understand special precautions around hospitals and silver care homes.

Fortunately where I live the government is only very strick if you are suspected of being in contact with someone who has it. We have had virtually no lockdown in Korea and I haven't missed a day of work. I'm certainly happy.

It is absolutely terrible. It feels as if we are puppets and they can do with us whatever they want. Believe me, they don't give us any choice. People are not even allowed to walk on the beach or go fishing when there is no one around. It is just so illogical I can't comprehend this whole lock down. I got hold of my gardener's neighbor and sent him food and money.

It does make you wonder how effective some of these measures are. Perhaps sometimes they are ill-advised and they start coming up with some really random rules. Are the people in charge in your country experts in their field or just politicians?
