Chinese Stir Fry Bok Choy

I taught my brother how to cook this!

I have a little brother who is 12 years younger than me still staying with me now. I noticed he doesn't have basic cooking skill yet except cooking instant noodle and fry and egg, so I figure he should learn basic stir fry. I chose to teach him this because it is the easiest recipe of all. And the dish turns out delicious. I told him, once he mastered this basic, he could expand from there — add meat or mushrooms or other stuff in the future. But, let's start with the basic.


Basic Chinese Stir Fry Bok Choy

Ingredients

We started with simple basic ingredients so that he could taste the most simple, natural taste of garlic oil with salt stir fry.

  • Bok Choy (Chinese Cabbage)
  • Garlic (3-4 cloves depends on the amount of vege)
  • Salt to taste

Step

Admire the bokchoy first (just kidding)

Clean bok choy thoroughly, rinsed well, cut into desired size.

Heat up oil and pan, stir fry garlic till fragrant

Add in the bok choy and fry while mix well. When the vegetables shrink, add in salt, about half teaspoon. I let him tried the sauce abit, he said like not tasty enough, so we added abit of brown sugar. I told him the variety of taste would either add in oyster sauce, or vegetables seasoning, or mushroom seasoning, etc. That, we will try next round with other vegetables.

By the way, we eat this once or twice a week because bokchoy in our place is very budget-friendly, just great for our pockets.
