Sublime Beautiful Sunday | Being alone has it's joys too.. You just need to find it

It's Sunday... And it's time for another Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday.

Being alone isn't always sad & lonely. Sometimes, we just have to make the best out of it. I've been on my own ever since I made the decision to work abroad and that was 23 months ago. Time sure fly very fast when you keep yourself preoccupied with work and if you enjoy yourself as best as possible. I'm not an adventurous nor am I an outdoor person but I do enjoy life as best as I can.

I spend a lot of my free time at home or sometimes if I feel like the outdoors, I'll walk around town. You'll be surprised with what one can find in the same place after a few weeks or months. So, a few weeks back, I decided to indulge myself by catching a movie.. Oh yes! Wonder Women was being aired and in English too. So, off I went to Vincom Dong Khoi to buy my movie ticket; that was after I checked the showtimes and after much convincing from my hubby who told me to get my butt of the sofa before I became a potato couch 😆

While I was purchasing my movie ticket over the counter, I realised I wasn't the only one that was doing the same thing. There was another man who was doing the same as well. He too was carrying a backpack like me and dressed in casual clothes. Guess, there are indeed others like - Lone Rangers. After getting my tickets, I decided that I should get a quick bit since it was close to midday and it was going to be at least a 1.5 hours movie. My tummy wasn't going to hold that long without any food especially when I didn't have any breakfast yet.

Across from the cinema was a nice restaurant, Chikkita very similar to the Nandos Oven Flamed chicken way of cooking. That caught my attention almost immediately since I haven't had Nando's for a long time and I recall that my organisation has got a partnership with them - special discount accorded on the food bill. My heart was set even before I walked into the restaurant.

There weren't many diners although it was close to midday which was good since I needed express service in order not to miss the start of my movie. After checking out the menu, I opt for a Quarter Meal set which came with a quarter piece of chicken and 2 side orders. Food wise, I'll give an 8/10 mainly because of the portion which was large by my standards and I had chips. Boy ! Do I miss chips.. real large deep fried chips.

I was most impressed with the variety of sauces they had available for my selection. I chose a few flavours and combined them together since I was greedy to taste as much as possible. If comparing with Nando's , the sauces here are slightly different but still taste as good. Absolutely no regrets coming here at all, even the prices are considered affordable if you asked me.

Since I had limited time to enjoy my lunch, I ate the chicken and had the waiter to pack my coleslaw and chips. I was planning to enjoy my chips while watching Wonder Woman, excellent idea, I know. Thinking back now, I should really visit this outlet again to fully enjoy the sauces. As for the movie, I felt there was just too much talking 🗣 and the story line was just average for me.

However, it may be, I enjoyed myself even if it was just me alone. No one to fuss me over anything. Such is life of a single person in a foreign country. It's not so sad after all.
