WHAT

_{(What Hive offers you as an individual)}

I have always wanted to write. Many years ago, I put it away. I only resumed writing again a few years ago. By that time, I'd joined the craze of "a quick way to make money online". I found that wasn't the case. You were paying out more than you earned.

My initial contact with Hive was more out of an obligation to help someone with a referral in an online program. I was then asked to join Click Track Profit ("CTP). From there, the owner of CTP encouraged all its members to join a new decentralized social media blockchain where you can earn cryptocurrency for blogging.

The only words I recognized in that pitch were "social media". Everything else I've had to learn in a sort of "on the job training" once I arrived on the Hive. This first year certainly has been a learning experience; not only for me, but I'm sure for all the other new members who ventured onto the blockchain at the same time.

I definitely wanted to write again, and consistently. But I'd vowed years ago when I first heard about cryptocurrency that I wanted nothing to do with it and would stay as far away as I could. Since writing on Hive was tied to cryptocurrency, I had my doubts. But I proceeded to joined.

Hive offers me the opportunity to explore my writing ability while at the same time learn about and earn cryptocurrency.

WHY

_{(How Hive is different to other social media and blogging platforms)}

Once I arrived on Hive, I found it was much more than a place to earn for doing something I love...writing. The difference between Hive and other social media platforms is that Hive is decentralized. I own my account with my unique password and keys to manage it.

I've never fully delved into other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, so I don't know what type of reward systems they offer for sharing your personal content.

With Hive I can share my writing with other authors who may or may not agree with my opinions. But since Hive is decentralized, I have the freedom to write as does other authors, respecting each other in the process.

I was amazed at the focus on Community involvement and engaging with others as I see fit. I believe in "you get what you give" concept. So it's up to you how much involved you want to be and how much you want to grow in terms of your account and your presence on the blockchain. I also own my Wallet and am free to utilize my assets as I see fit.

WHO

_{(People & spaces you find Hive support and gain enthusiasm from)}

A few days ago, I celebrated my 1 year anniversary on Hive. During this past year, I can truly say that I may not have the largest Wallet or the highest Reputation, but I have made small strides in growing my account. I'm no longer one of the small fish in the ocean (known as a Redfish).

As far as online friends on the Hive social media platform, I ventured out from my initial group to discover through several communities. I show here again my image I created in Canva for my 1-year anniversary post I published on 8/2/20 that correctly visualizes my experiences on Hive. The doors below that opened up taught me how to conduct myself, how to engage with others, how to create certain types of content on Hive, and how to grow my account.

For these Communities and the individuals in each, I'm thoroughly grateful. I've crossed paths with numerous individuals on Hive. I thank each and every one of them for their insights, opinions, suggestions, directions, instructions, support, and encouragement.

I'd like to mention The Terminal, @theterminal , who helped me learn and grow. This Community is the primary reason I'm at this point in my Hive journey. Lead by and awesome team of ladies who created the Terminal discord, this Community is in the business of helping new Redfish on the Hive platform. The Terminal's Redfish Rally Monthly Delegation Program, led by @brittandjosie and the Rally staff will provides the tools to anyone who is willing to apply himself and learn. The program also gives you a head start just like me and help you on your journey on Hive.

WHERE

_{(The front ends / dapps of your choice and why)}

To accomplish my content creation on Hive, I utilize PEAKd for all my content creation. It is easy to use front end application. It contains a Wallet that displays my Hive earnings and my Hive Engine Token all in one place. The features I find convenient are the ability to: create and save drafts and then schedule my posts for publication later. I plan to use Dpoll this year for contest voting purposes.

I had no plans to join Hive, but I'm glad I did so. The decentralized blockchain was one of the reasons I decided to join. I have stayed for the social interaction, engagement, and cryptocurrency rewards available.
