Pink Full Moon and a Visit From a Deer Family - Wednesday Walk
We are still continuing to get more snow, as much now as we have had all winter! Our #WednesdayWalk have been shorter with the main action happening around the house.
Bruno loves the snow and I haven't tired of the beautiful scenes created by the heavy snow although I am so ready for it to melt and to start seeing some bare ground and green shoots!

The deep snow doesn't slow Bruno down, he loves running through it with his stick!

You can see how deep the snow is on the roof of our well house which makes for a beautiful scene in among the snow covered evergreens!

Back at the house there was a weird occurance as the snow on the roof of the sun room began sliding off the roof making a large curve.

Once we had returned inside later in the day I noticed something moving outside the front window.
Could it be a deer?
A closer look and I saw that it was not one deer but three - a doe and her two young ones which would have been born last spring. We had seen some track on the lane and were happy to see they were back again this year but we were even happier when we saw them right in the yard and that it was the mom and her young ones - twins!
Whitetail Deer Looking Towards Me - a Doe
They were eating the buds on the chokecherry tees and then the young one went down the dip towards the arch. What was she going to eat there?

After the deers had left I went to check out what they were after when they went down into the deep snow and found there was a Malas Crab-apple bent down with the weight of the snow making the tender top bud available to the deer.

Bruno finally noticed the deer outside as they moved to another part of the yard in view of where he was watching through the window. He couldn't contain himself and began barking loudly. The deer heard it for the sound travels through the sun room windows and they were startled and headed off.

That was it for the deer although I did see one when I had woke up in the evening with the light of the full moon and there in the pines outside my window was a deer grazing under the pine trees. I tried to take a picture through the window but it was in the shadows and the picture didn't turn out. That got me going to get some pictures of the full moon which was shining brightly. It had been cloudy when I went to bed but it had cleared off in the night. I was happy I got up and caught some photos for it was cloudy again the next night.
Here's some of my favorites of the Pink Full Moon...

The moon had been rising behind the pine trees making beautiful silhouettes of their branches and needles.

This next picture with two pine branches joined looked like the arms of some hairy creatures holding hands. What do you think?

Once the moon had cleared the pine trees I zoomed in as much as I could to see the details with a close up. It always fascinates me the different marking and craters on the surface!

This is my #WednesdayWalk which is an initiative by @tattoodjay go check out his latest post here. He collaborates with @elizacheng and her #MakeMeSmile initiative.

w0ww.. what amazing photos.. such a beautiful place you live.. incredible.. and SNOW?!! i thought it was cold where i was!
and those moon shots./. Mmmm wow! beautiful share!
Very nice shots of the deer! Pines holding hands was cool too!
My husband regularly sees deer on our "back 40". He saw the most so far, a couple nights ago, 16!
Wow! that is a lot of deer in one place! The number of whitetail deer had been on the decline here for a lot of trophy hunters come up here and there is a lot of outfitting! They cut it down to a 1 deer hunting season and it seems the population is on the rise. Thank goodness! You do see the larger herds of deer down south where the grain farmers are.
What a joy to see wildlife in your backyard, mother and young ones so fortunate they hung around eating long enough to capture some lovely photography here.
Dogs love being outdoors, ours is feeling the affects of not being able to go out for a good walk, confused somewhat. Fortunately for you, your property allows you to escape down the lane to enjoy a walk.
Fun moon photography using nature being creative.
Beautifuls shots, Winter sure is not letting go for you but Bruno doesn't not seem to mind that at all
Lovely photos! I love all the shots of the deer and my favourite is number four from the top... "Bruno sitting Alert Among Snow Covered Spruce and Bushes." Great post!
Hi, I just want to say thank you for sharing your beautiful photos!!! I love all of them, especially the moon!!! What camera did you use to get this clear picture of the moon?
Regards,
Elizabeth from South Australia
P.S. It doesn't snow here, so I'm always amazed to see pictures of snow. It must be very lovely where you are.
I use a Canon Powershot SX 60 HS and have really been enjoying it and so simple to use!
It is beautiful with the snow but I'm getting kind of tired of it and can't wait to see some green shoots poking out of the ground - spring is really late here this year.
Wow! That's an expensive camera, but it's worth spending such an amount of money to buy a camera that has good quality. The shots are perfect and the pictures are clear. When I use my telescope to look at the moon, I only use my phone camera to take a photo, so sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes not. I'd have lots of shots first before I could get a clearer picture.
It will be winter here soon. Although I think we still have a bit of summer left. Autumn is late here this year, on the other hand.
I got a good deal on it and it has been worth every penny to me for I live in the forest and I love taking nature pictures!
