Wednesday Walk - the Birds are Singing and the Moon is Shining...
I awoke to a cheerful chorus of birdsong with tree sparrows, chickadees and others.

Listen and watch the cheerful Tree Sparrow busily hopping around the bushes -
As the sun rose the moon was still shining in the morning sky above the sunlight pine treetop, beautiful to see!

Heading off for our walk to the hilltop we noticed some leaves in the bush beginning to change color after our first frost.

Up on top of the hill we found some interesting clouds above the lake in the distance.

The fireweed, although the blossoms were pretty much finished, were putting on a pretty display with their fiery red leaves

Another sign of fall was the continuing flocks of geese heading South.

Although we did have a light frost there were still a few blooms around attracting the bees.

Something I don't see often was two different pollinators going after the same bloom. This time a bumble bee and a type of pollinator I'm not sure of what it is.

Back at home we found JJ sitting by head of the lane, welcoming us back.

One last interesting shot I got after nightfall was a shot of what I presume is planet Mars which is suppose to be quite bright right now.
It was showing as a large red star shining up above a spruce tree which gave me something to focus on as I zoomed in and got a pleasant surprise for it was showing some details on the surface of the Red planet

It looks so like autumn up there now! here the trees are just thinking of turning....
Real nice shot of JJ. :))
What a wonderful walk. Love all the colors and flowers!
Birds sing because they have a song, make our spirits lift in walks enjoying the tunes.
I must check and see lay of stars I was sure it was Saturn last night, very evident in southern sky around 11pm last night.
JJ looking very handsome at the end of the lane, better remind him that white wet stuff will be arriving again soon, go walking JJ sitting around is a waste of time.
Wishing you a wonderful day and a !BEER to end off with a sun-downer.
I did the research for the northern hemisphere and the time of night it was up 1:30 am and it seemed to point to mars being very bright and close to the earth at that time. I was very surprised to see the details.
Every so often a star stands out, appearing bigger calling for investigation. Fun to see if you are able to identify, my Dad knew the stars here in the south showing us when we were young.
That's wonderful that your dad knew the stars and that he shared them with you.
As far as my research goes it is mars but I never really checked out the constellations to see where it fit in.
Goodness, you must have quite the zoom on your camera!
Are you prepared for winter setting in or still preparing?
We had frost warning so I did the panic preparation and I am pretty much ready for the heavy frosts - got the indoor garden up and running now.
I do love your indoor garden! I always remember get that photo from outside in the cold, looking in.
