My Steem Story – By @rem-steem
MY STEEM STORY
A Power House Creatives Initiative
Everyone has a story – and all our stories have something in common… we all started from nothing and knew nothing. People want to hear stories. They want to hear OUR stories — they want to know who we are, where we are from, what we are doing, who and what we love, what we have learnt and where we are going. People also want us to hear their story! Being a part of the Steem network is an individual journey for every single one of us and through this initiative we will share our stories not only with all who are already here – hopefully inspiring, guiding and informing them… but doing the same for everyone else in the world too. Through our stories we will prick the curiosity of those who have not yet arrived and illuminate and widen the already open doors to our one in a million blockchain.
We invite and encourage each and every one of you to participate and share your stories too! You can find the "how to" details at the end of this post.
MY STEEM STORY - BY @rem-steem
>>>My journey to making a virtual footprint in this crypto social world!<<<
- Where my Steem Journey began
I guess it was during September 2018 when I get to know about Steem. It was obviously my self-search. To be honest I was a little frustrated about the regular social media. And was curious to know if there any other social media which can help me focus on other things expect showing off. Something like Blog and found Steem.
Well, I wouldn't say Steem seems like a scam to me at the very first. Yeah, I had no idea about blockchain or anything like this where we can socialize and earn crypto. But I had some idea about online earning and knew people earn through Steem. The challenge was, I was not quite sure how to start, what to write, how to socialize. But it didn't last long. Just in a week or so, I learned enough about crypto, blockchain, and Steem. And then it started to seem amazing.
• My initial challenges & how I overcame them
There's no need to say how a newbie can feel when they first join Steem. There's no proper guideline, where to shart and how to roll on. No friends, no common faces, nothing. It was like a huge pond where I felt like I'm losing myself. And I was not sure what to talk about, how to create content. I didn't have any discord or didn't know much about it. So, my engagement level was zero.
Also, it seems critical to understand and Steem is evolving so what we knew before, some of them became already invalid. Understanding financial things and jumping in this unknown place was not easy.
But it took like a month or so to figure out everything.
First I read the huge FAQ section of Steemit.com. Yeah, every step and words!
I found @bdcommunity, my native community of Bangladeshi people and get to know more about Steem. Also, I became part of different other communities where I can ask questions, make friends and know things better.
Started to learn how to create posts and promote them.
Started to engage on discord as well as through Steem.it comments.
Experimented what goes right like different dapps and selected the correct one.
• My Steem blockchain knowledge
As I have said I didn't know anything about blockchain function. Though I knew a very few crypto names, just like other commoners. But after digging in just for Steem, I have learned many things. Yeah, it's a critical thing, heard to understand. I wouldn't say I have learned enough but I do get the basic knowledge. And now I have three different accounts in three different blockchain's so-called social media!
• My Steem favorites
I'm a life enthusiast. I do love to consume and produce life-related content. From personal story to photography, from mindful life to inspirational stories. I started to do vlogging lately but I love to write for sure. It gives me more chances to express myself better.
Well, I'm still in Steem.com as a frontend, not because I love it but because it feels handy. I curate for some communities and it's easy to find out different posts and search through different tags. I also use Steempeak as my second choice (maybe it should be my first). I don't know why Steempeak auto logged out me every single day and it's irritating to log back again. But I would suggest anyone use Steempeak for sure.
I use different dapps. Like nTopaz, TaSteem, dtube, esteem. But I love to create content through Steemit itself. And nowadays I'm exploring different hives too to post.
• My golden nugget advice
Let me bullet point it to make it easy to understand.
Educate yourself not just on Steem but on blockchain and crypto too.
Focus on engagement in Steem and make good connections.
And, you must focus on your engagement level on Steem and try to influence others.
Be original
• My Steem hood & its peeps
It would be a long list but I will try to make it short. As I was talking about how my native community helped me to make a grip on Steem. And I have shared it earlier several times how blessed I feel to become a part of #PHC - Power House Creatives. As I love to consume content so it's a place like home for me in Steem, where I can find all different amazing content creators. Also, I'm part of different other communities like @innerblocks @naturalmedicine @steemitbd @steemitmamas @ecotrain.
I wouldn't prefer to take any Steem user's name because I know I can't make it unbiased. To be honest, I feel blessed to come in a good connection with lots of supportive people through different communities. People who are giving me the courage to stay in Steem and rock!
And I really feel blessed to find a place like Steem where I can make my own virtual footprint!
