Ripping the Roof Off- Demolition Continues

Hello to the #Hive!

Well the project of slow demolition continues. Today I've decided we can start on the wooden covered set up area. Messy job! The roofing material really does create a huge mess.

Everything thats constructed within 3m of the foreshore line ( or where they think it is) must be removed. Retaining walls, concrete deck etc. Much of the structures here were here before I arrived or were built within the existing area after i arrived. In fact the whole coastal area here is well within the zone or right up to the shoreline.

As much as its an inconvenience to do, we must comply and I just look at it as an opportunity to rework the place and make it better.

As there are no inbound tourists at the moment and we are still not allowed to conduct any tourist activities it's the perfect time to do it. The idea of doing this while we were in full operation would often keep me awake at night as it's quite a lot of workable space that's getting ripped up. It would have been nigh on impossible to do this and have the amount of divers we are used to in the house. Chaos would ensue.

So off with the roof! Let's have some open space.

The buildings either side have yet to coply but i can already see the overall feel of the place and the whole area will be dramatically different and I believe, better.

So bring it on, lets get on with it. As i have mentioned in previous posts I am trying to do it in sections so as not to create a massive mess and also to assess it all as we do it. Quite often the act of removing something sheds new light on the place and we can brainstorm new ideas for how we will change the place after.

Relocating the bar and classrooms. Altering the storage and gear set up areas. We can keep an open mind and rework ideas as we go by doing it this way.

IMG5064.jpg
We do still create a lot of mess.

But it all gets taken away and used in some way shape or form here.

Well thats enough for one day. Back tomorrow to take down the wooden structure. Soon the concrete underneath also. And so it continues

The black and white photos gave off a different vibe. Maybe because its demolition? Hahaha! 😂 But yes, the pictures are great. I like it better that way.

It's an opportune time to get things set up, now that there are no tourist yet. Great idea you have there.

Enjoy! And have a happy weekend!
