Good Morning all you Hivers!

people are slowly leaving all around me. Slowly slowly the guys we know who have been here since February are now one by one finding their way home. Some I have only known since February and some have been here many times before but in all cases the situation we are in and the uniqueness of it all combined with a prolonged stay has resulted in cementing friendships and understanding each other on a different level.

As they leave i miss them as they leave us increasingly isolated. Not just the guests either. Also people with businesses leaving to go back to their mother countries and others that have been working in the tourism industry here for years.

I think last night was one of those nights where we knew there were not too many occasions like it left and I have no idea how I got home unscathed. Much laughter but tainted with the knowledge that they also will soon be gone.

It's an odd feeling seeing less and less familiar faces every week and wondering what the future actually holds for us all. I can't shake the sad feeling this morning. It's just a stark, cold reality that lays bare the situation around us and how it is manifesting itself. I'm in a melancholy moment as I sip my coffee this morning as I know that many of these faces i may never see again or at best it may be a very long time until i do.
