Beautiful Sunday- Cooking Pancit Palabok

Good Day guys!

Let me show you what my mom and sister cooked for us for dinner. They cooked Pancit Palabok. Pancit Palabok is a noodle dish with infused with creamy shrimp sauce and complemented with different toppings. I was excited about this because the last time I ate palabok was during the celebration of my colleagues birthday.

Here were the ingredients that they used.
  1. Pork Belly
  2. Pancit Luglug Corn Startch Noodles.
  3. Palabok Sauce.
  4. Eggs
  5. Chicharon
  6. Garlic, onions , spring onions, salt and pepper.
The first thing that they did was boil the pork belly with garlic, onions, salt and pepper until it was cooked

My mom usually boils it until she could stick a fork through the pork.

They heated a pan with water and placed the Noodle there to cook.

After around ten to twelve minutes it was cooked.

She got some of the fat from the pork and stir fried it with garlic and onions. She did this just to render some oil to cook the rest of the meat.

This was the palabok sauce. We actually got it from one of the fast food chain called Mang Inasal here in Baguio. There are actually ways to make your palabok sauce/ shrimp sauce. Some even come in a Mix. We will try making our own sauce in the future.

This was the finished product. I topped it with chicharon, slices of hard boiled egg and chopped spring onions. Too bad we didn't have shrimp to top it with.

I really think they did a great job making this. It tasted delicious. The sauce had so much flavor, the pork complemented it well and the bits of chicharon added a crunch at the end. This meal really filled me up.
