📷 My Marketfriday: embroidery in folk traditions

Today I will show you some photographs made in one of Ararat held in Krasnodar. There was a lot of interesting and diverse things, but I liked the original embroidery of our masters.

The art of embroidery has never stood still and is constantly evolving. So in the XIV-XVII centuries. embroidery decorated household items, clothing and all sorts of Souvenirs. Church vestments and clothing were embroidered with silver and gold threads, adding bright gems and pearls to them.

However I have the lesson the first time was a privilege only for wealthy ladies. However, starting from the XVIII century, embroidery began to be engaged in almost all segments of the population.

And today at the fairs you can find a lot of interesting things made of linen, cotton and various textiles. Towels, towels, pillowcases, tablecloths, all kinds of bags for herbs and gifts...

Such embroidery in Kuban is called a counting cross. It is believed that such needlework will bring the owner good luck and prosperity.

This is now many girls do not know how to make a simple smooth double-sided stitch, but they know how to make websites and are engaged in programming: -)

Although someone today willingly attends master classes.

Here is a rhombus and in the old days was considered one of the most common and popular motifs in embroidery. At the same time, each nation could portray it in completely different ways.

In some cultures, it was seen as a symbol of fertility. And if we talk about plant ornaments, then in Kuban the tree of life or the world tree is in demand.

Our craftswomen love to embroider and ribbons. They come up with patterns themselves, select colors, and make up the composition.

There are needlewomen who can weave lace napkins, collars and even shawls in an openwork style in just a few hours. You'll find it here and openwork, and lace, and interesting patterns.

  • Have a wonderful Friday everyone and if you have some interesting market-related photos, go ahead and submit them in the #MarketFriday tag and link to your article in the Express post by @dswigle.

And at the end, as always, there will be flowers.

The work they do here is such an art! I know that a lot of girls program and makes sites, but, you can do both! :) I was taught at a very young age to do needlework and taught my girls when they were young. They do both, which I am happy about.

The intricate patterns and work is s skill that takes years and years. You have definitely found some wonderful examples to show off the work. Lacework is interesting and I wish I could do it and the weaving, one of my daughters like to use the loom to relax. That would stress me!!! LOL

I want to thank you for taking part in the #MarketFriday challenge! The entire challenge has migrated from a stroll through a market to a cultural extravaganza. ! It really surprised me, but, also delights me to know how much effort people put into it. It pointed out our differences in the beginning, but, then, it really started showing how many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. I love the experience of it all. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested is seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this!I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
