OLD BARN № 071
This rustic barn has seen better days, but is still standing strong! The construction of this building is very simple: a solitary drive bay in the middle, a few stables inside, and a hay loft overhead.
There appears to be some warping in the structure and buckling of the roof on the left side, probably due to the shifting of the earth underneath. Unless it is fixed, I fully expect that the whole structure will pull-apart in a few years and the left side will collapse.
OLD BARN № 071 is at the foot of Bullard Mountain, one of the Three Sisters which are a trio of delightful little mountains that are in a row.

It is also in the same vicinity as the last several numbered barns I have featured as part of my Old Barn Project, as can be seen in the screenshot from BING Maps, below:

The white dots on the above screenshot indicate barns that have yet to be featured, so please stay tuned!

I had a friend that had a barn (he had two) that developed a bit of a list. He had serious treasures all over that barn (I mean antique car parts that wouldn't quit) and hired his brother-in-law to 'right the ship'. He used cables and anchors internally and it really squared up the barn nicely.
A couple years later we had a hurricane force wind and the second story of that barn landed on the road about 400 yards away :) Turns out the structural bits the BIL had provided allowed the top to separate from the bottom! It no doubt would have completely blown over in that wind, but...The model A and T he had parked in the bottom were just fine.
What a thing! 😮 Thank goodness the antique cars were okay! Did he have the top of the barn put back on?
Nope. The same BIL put a sort of roof on it, so the bottom would stay dry and he had some space for the 'less exotic' parts. He had some serious stuff. Complete running gear for a 1919 Buick. A couple hundred mostly Ford wheels. It was an amazing lifetime collection. The model T was his first car in High School,,,
That's awesome that there is some personal history there with the Model-T! Sounds like he has his own miniature museum... he should charge admission! 😁
Should have. The big C got him a couple years ago. He had an incredible pile of stuff, some that I'd heard of or read about before I met him and got to put my hands on it. Stuff that real gearheads just lose their mind over :)
One of those guys that was my terrific pleasure to have met and known. He trusted me enough to work on some of his babies. He owned an all original '32 coupe that had less than 20,000 miles. People came from near and far just to look at it to see how things were originally done at the factory.
Barn number 71! WOW... that is so amazing and to plot them all in that mop is impressive. Today, I did go out to a farm, and I should have taken a photo of the barn, although it is not rustic at all. It is a new structure, yet still has a charm of its own. When I go out for market Friday, I will try to find a barn closeby and share that with you. Barns are truly interesting.
Enjoy the evening, sis @thekittygirl, and take care 🥰🌺🤙
Not all of my barns are old. There are several newish ones in my "Old" Barn Project. It was my intent, originally, to limit it to older barns, but then I started shooting some of the newer ones, too. Yes, the plotting of them all is one of my big goals, although I hate that I have forgotten where a couple of them are. 🙁
The scenery around the mountains must be very beautiful. Greetings friend.
I think this Old Barn Project” would also be a great coffee table book. You’ve certainly got all the content ready.
