Crafting 4 Christmas | Part 18 | Make your own gift box | DIY

Crafting 4 Christmas part 18.png

Introduction

It's always nice to receive presents in a nice gift box. But these boxes aren't always available. There's actually no need for them either as you can easily craft your own gift box after you've followed this tutorial. This box was made from quite thin colored paper, and already pretty solid, if you use thicker paper or cardboard, the box will be very solid.

If you have some little Christmas presents to hand out that can use a little extra attention to make them look even cooler, start crafting some gift boxes. I bet the person receiving the gift will love the extra effort you've made for them!

What you need

You only need a few items for this craft. You can add accessories to your liking, like a cool ribbon or decoration!

You can add some decoration like an extra ribbon as well.

The end result

Here's what the gift box looks like. I didn't make a hanging ornament of this one, but this can easily be done if you prefer to do so. Just hang the package in the tree using the ribbon.

Thanks for the compliment and support @galenkp :)
Just a few days before Christmas, and still have a few more crafts to finish..

I think today I will finish the Gingerbread house, made from scratch.. The post is already a very long one (been editing it along the way). Aiming to post 25 crafts this year, and I'm glad you like the step by step process!

You're welcome. You know, I wanted to do a gingerbread house from scratch this year but didn't get around to it. I think we'll have a try at one next year; How bad could I mess it up? Well, probably a lot, but it'll be fun and tasty to eat my errors. :)

Trust me, you can :) haha it's so much work prepping and it has been done in like 10 phases here. I was planning on doing it in 3, but I decorated it in parts as the icing wasn't as firm as should be a few times (oops). It turned out totally different than I envisioned, BUT I also added some cool features and glad I will be able to make THE Christmas greet card later today including the Gingerbread house in it.. So last minute but at least it's done. Next year: smaller gingerbread house probably haha. OR start sooner ;)

Smaller or start sooner sounds like a good plan! I guess the main thing is that you enjoy what you do though right? If it doesn't come out perfectly then that's ok provided it brings enjoyment.

Yes, it did bring a lot of fun moments and I learned how to NOT make the parts of the house lol .. (I had to glue them to make sure it wouldn't collapse haha) and I learned how to make royal icing properly. Also did some construction work (lol) but you'll see in the next days when I publish that one :)

It was my first time ever, and I can totally see why people are doing this every year as a tradition!

I think I'll have to watch a YouTube video to learn how how to make one. There are kits available however I'm planning to make it from scratch which could be interesting considering I have no clue! 😊

Yeah, saw the kits in a supermarket, but thought it would be nice to do it from scratch as well. So many different recipes though, and different directions.. I just gave it my own twist with the ingredients I could find (that was a bit of a problem as well) later one or two rounds of icing and then it should be done, can't wait until I have the actual finished house on picture :)
