«This is how the heart works. It's not a uniform thing. It's like the course of a river. It adapts to the shape of things.»

COWARDICE

What an exasperation! That you exhort yourself in fear of an expectant stalking. Ulterior to the events that occurred in a very poor life. Don't overflow with your laughter the joy that you defined, without first having painted the occurrence of an incisive pain. You deviate without being offensive and even allow your last defense to be violated, alas!

Who stops the seconds of time by asserting the most self-absorbed torture? Who makes the sinister wants as agents of an alternate reason? Who turns the imperishable ignorance into a bottomless pit of space? Who, perhaps, has done it in your evasive condition by cowardly eluding the punishments of a coming executioner?

And in a spur of pain have you squawked. They took the form of giant albatrosses that will sporadically peck at your flesh, just like the punishment they gave Prometheus for having stolen an attribute from the gods. If you hide your trembling and irrefutable beauty, the jaws of fate will find you.

I for my part disdain your dread that overshadows the shadow of your highest virtue. I saw you in a desolate dream, watching the twilights with the utmost care. In them you glimpsed stars that were once worlds, and on their surface they harbor a life that unfolds and unravels the foundations of a fatuous apex.

And I saw you so lavish and gallant, yes, before you could sing to the waves. Fight against blizzards. Imitate the flames. Release the impetus of the earth and, with only an oblique glance you defied spells; dark and evil. Now you are slave of the future; who is regent of the horizons, lender of the seconds and of a traveling end that is approaching.

You are afraid of the formless monsters coming from the beyond, who have not yet trodden these lands because of their imposing insanity. Who would fear destiny as much as you do without falling into alienation? Who would bury the designs in a taciturn tomb where only hope lies with hands in the chest? To my regret I have described you as the most trivial of creatures who dwell in an adverse, hostile, and posthumous world.

Under your pitiful eyes I have seen an effigy, which gradually evaporates in your pauperous tears. For you have been blind to a turbulent present, replacing it with a fateful future that professes your ruin. And in my eloquent arms I wait for your light to be served, for they assume to hold that pain that holds you.

You are going to the bottom of your world, sheltered within those walls that are hidden and perish in formless darkness. I fall between abyssal and perennial lamentations, for I would like you to come with me and be like the birds, which, risking themselves with any torrent of air, continue on their way. And to find our passage, you do not know how I would like it!

But you have ended up indelibly amidst alternating murmurs, which only feed your fear in this pit of madness. It hurts me so much in my soul but I cannot wait for you very long, I only wish that you find the cure for your pusillanimous dementia and that the love of your bowls enters as a fortuitous visitor. Farewell my beloved lady and may your path not be towards oblivion.
