Seven Days of Crappy Camera Photos: Day 7: Sublime Sunday

For today's Crappy Camera series - the final day of the series - we are combining crappy camera photos with #sublimesunday. Thanks @c0ff33a!

Today's gallery of crappy camera photos is also special for another reason: today absolutely none of the pictures shown were taken by me; instead, they were all taken by my youngest son, Christopher, who is 11 years old. My offering today was to simply run them through post-processing. And to make sure we didn't drown. That's important, too.

We went out to Lum's Pond for some canoeing today. I was able to take two of my boys - the youngest and oldest - and enjoy some time on the water. I paddled. The oldest paddled. The youngest used my crappy camera to take pictures.

I'm actually really impressed with how well the pictures turned out. This camera - a 2 mega-pixel beast - does not have a viewfinder or preview screen worth speaking about, so the boy had to eyeball and guess where to aim the camera. I think he did remarkably well!

I will admit, before colour correction, the pictures are really, really bland, and thats only the fault of the camera. Take this next one, for instance. Right out of the camera, it's pretty bland.

With some simple colour correction, however, the sky really begins to stand out, and the clouds become really sharp.

My oldest makes something of an appearance in this next photo. We see part of the back of his head.

Honestly, there are only so many pictures one can take from the middle of a lake in a canoe. There are a number of herons and turtles around, and we hunted, but today came up short, so our only real photo opportunity was the lake itself. At least it's a nice lake!

It was a nice summer day. Unfortunately I had chores waiting for me back home, but it's always fun to be able to get out and enjoy at least part of the day with the kids.

Nothing beats some fresh air, water activities and time spent with the kids! Christopher did a fantastic job as photographer capturing the outdoor excursion, and not drowning!😀🛶✌

Did you guys finish the day by jumping in the lake to take a swim or not today? Soon it will be autumn and waters too chilly to take a dip.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! @wwwiebe

No, no swimming for us. Not only are my boys not that adventurous, this particular lake is in a State Park, and they do not allow swimming. I did splash them both with the paddle though!

I always believed time spent on the water is time not deducted from your time on Earth. Time well spent!

Nice day to go on the lake with the boys! I gave up taking my camera on the water. Or at least until I get a new GoPro that doesn`t require housing.

Oh, I get paranoid, without a doubt. I have nightmares of any electronic drowning in several meters of water. I keep a tight hold, I assure you of that!
