Hypocrisy – 1 Peter 2:1

image.png

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

Today, let’s focus on the third item mentioned. That being hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy. What an ugly word. This is something that no one can even imagine they would do. However, have we really dug into our heart to see if we are hypocrites? Digging into our hearts means digging beyond the veneer of what we want others to see.

What do you preach or teach from your mouth but aren’t willing to live out yourself? Everyone has something they need to work on. And I’m not talking about the obvious things that you know others can see. No. I’m talking about the things that are there that you just don’t want others to know about at all.

It’s so easy to say “Well, nobody is perfect.” when talking about ourselves. Yet, do we give that same grace to others? Or do we stand on our own little soapbox pointing our finger at others forgetting that same hand has three fingers looking right back at us? Are you a hypocrite?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.

Digging into our hearts means digging beyond the veneer of what we want others to see.

Yes, part of our walk with Christ is to do introspection, digging out those things that are not pleasing to God that we can become more and more like Him.
Thank you for sharing.
Blessings.
