I think TV ratings is not that relevant anymore. It might still work for cable and traditional TV, but there are other ways to watch the games during this digital era. Streaming online is now becoming popular as people can watch elsewhere as long as they data connection.

Regarding "no true teams anymore", I kinda agree with it. Top players jumps from one team to another. It seems more about the money. No more team loyalty. Though, there are loyalty to players.

Injuries has also affected some top players, and that affected the ratings and decline of viewership. Another thing, there are a lot of things happened on NBA, which dismayed some fans.
