Always use Your Full Ass and Give 110% šŸš€

If you're an achievement hunter and someone who loves new challenges and adventures, you may have stumbled upon the problem of having multiple unfinished projects. I certainly have. Usually I dive into something new head first and learn a bunch of stuff while I'm at it, but once the "newer" things comes along, the process repeats itself, whether anything previous was finished or not. This leaves behind a trail of halflings in eternal progress.

A solution, or rather workaround, we often apply is to hack our way towards the completion of these unfinished tasks, better known as half-assing it. The problem with this is that it's usually not the correct way to do things and might not be sustainable long term. Imagine replacing one of your bad tires with a smaller spare and never replacing that spare with a new original size tire. Technically the problem has been resolved and you can drive your car around. But somewhere in the future that oddly sized tire is going to mess up your axis or what not.

But it could be worse apparently.

This brings us to the title that probably caught your eye. Always use your full ass and give at least 100%. This means focusing on and prioritizing one task before you move to the next one. I find that unnecessarily rushing things in life is not needed to be content and happy. If you have time to do 5 things, but 7 are on your todo list, prioritize 5 and do exactly that amount. Don't try to squeeze the full 7 into a time slot made for 5. Eventually in due time you will get every single thing done, one by one, when are supposed to be. And be sure to always put your whole ass into it and give it all you've got.

What are some of your unfinished projects?

Thanks for stopping by. šŸ™ƒ

Got so busy during the pandemic recession, I bought out the lease on a Cannabis Retreat @CANJAMRetreat and totally forgot about the @HiveWhat Blockchain Search and Directory project at HiveWhat.com

šŸ§šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø I noticed many ppl still use it to search for old Hive/Steem posts and Hive DApps since the native search is šŸ’© and the other Hive search sites are a bit complicated for noobs. Started updating the site again just a few days ago (half-assing it) as you mentioned until time allows for more.

Cheers

That's a handy tool right there. Didn't know about that one. How does it work exactly? I see below the search is being done through google. So do you just filter the google search on the 3 base urls stated at the top?

Web projects are a rare breed though. Not something you can ever really finish. As technology and frameworks keep advancing, there's always some kind of update that needs to be implemented.

Yeah, it was that simple just the first GCSE that filtered hive.blog and peakd. It was an attempt to horde keywords while both new domains were still indexing šŸ˜… and it actually worked for a couple weeks. There's still traffic trickling in from Google.

I had a lot planned around the directory, a Hive Explorer, Classifieds Filter and enabling Hivesigner login etc... just never got around to it. I'm not the best blockchain/web3 dev, so I'll need a hand when I do.

Interesting. I am also just now starting with web3 and smart contracts. Did my thesis project on it. Currently still finishing that up. And pretty soon I'll be doing some stuff on Hive too, but all in due time.

Along the road you could also implement statistics, but then simple enough for non-tech people to understand it, staying with your original intent of user friendliness. An visually the results could also use an improvement over that standard google look.

Huh... I have fallen into this trap many times and still do... lol... For example, have an idea for a vlog, focus 100% on that, record the video, and as the finish of the task is coming, I'm doing with less focus... until doing it at the end of the deadline, rushing in to finish it... and the final product looks lame... lol.. :)

Lol, we've all been there. And funny enough, we can compare that same explanation to the way new governments work. Focused in the beginning, then they get lost in the middle, and then at the end rushing to finish random things to get votes and we end up with lame results. šŸ˜…

Oh, man... I feel so bad when you have compared me with governments... lol...

Hahaha, I did not think of it that way. But understandable, I would feel bad too. šŸ˜‚
