Hello @naturalmedicine Community, it is a pleasure to greet you and share with you once again, a topic related to Natural Medicine.

The papaya tree, in addition to being a tree that provides a good setting for selfies 😀, contains a fruit rich in nutrients that is placed among the first natural medicine home remedies. I wish many people knew that papaya is an important source of vitamin C, containing up to 10 times more of this component than orange, always ranked as the great supplier of the substance.

(This papaya tree is the cultural heritage of my house 😀, a hurricane wind knocked it down, we raised it, it took the shape of a "U" and it continues to bear fruit)

In addition to vitamin C, papaya also has large amounts of lycopene and beta-carotene, components that benefit skin, vision, and heart health, as well as several other nutrients. Papaya is a rich source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, iron, potassium, and various other substances, such as riboflavin.

The most surprising thing in my research is that riboflavin is also known as vitamin B2 and helps reduce damage caused by excess stress and helps preserve the integrity of the nervous system.

See below the main benefits of papaya for a healthy life and include this fruit in your diet too!

It is good for digestion and improves intestinal flow

The papaya is rich in fiber, a characteristic that by itself already facilitates intestinal transit. In addition, it has components that facilitate digestion.

Papaya has papain and chemo-papain, which, in addition to being anti-inflammatory, are the enzymes that digest proteins, my mother suffered a lot from constipation and always cultivated this fruit throughout her life.

Fight free radicals

Rich in vitamin A, papaya has antioxidants that delay aging and prevent the onset of disease.

Strengthens the immune system

The combination of vitamin A and vitamin C is an invincible pair against colds and flu. Furthermore, because it also contains B vitamins, the immune system as a whole benefits.

Improve eye health

Vitamin A is known to increase night vision. Since papaya has a large amount of this component, it is considered a great ally in eye health.

Makes skin more beautiful

Beta-carotene and lycopene in papaya are responsible for the color of food and contribute to healthier skin. Furthermore, beta carotene can be converted to vitamin A, responsible for several other beneficial characteristics of the fruit.

Helps you lose weight

In addition to being tasty, papaya is light: every 100 grams of fruit adds up to only 39 calories. For this reason, it can be included in weight loss diets and consumed fresh, combined with cereals, yogurts and other fruits, or in cakes, syrups and jellies.

Increase bone strength and combat fatigue

My neighbor is a naturist and had a son who suffered a lot from asthma when he was little, he taught me that papaya contains calcium and phosphorus. The first is known for strengthening bones and fighting osteoporosis and phosphorus, for being a tonic against fatigue.

Helps to quickly heal the skin

Ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, helps heal wounds by improving the regenerative capacity of the skin.

Helps maintain cholesterol

Because it is rich in pectin, a polysaccharide that helps reduce fat absorption, papaya can be consumed to normalize cholesterol levels in the body.

Use of the seeds of this fruit:

To further increase the laxative power of papaya, its seeds can also be consumed naturally or dried and ground in sauces, mixed with honey, or whipped in fruit juice.

I love papaya seeds! If you dry them out they can even be a substitute for black pepper in food! So yummy.
Papaya indeed is a majestic fruit - it has so many benefits and I should definitely get some right now as I have been struggling with stomach ache!

And your family's papaya tree is unique and GORGEOUS!

By the way, is the last picture yours as well? If not, you should totally credit the source to prevent any trouble!

Our papaya trees are sooooo heavy with fruit! And the markets are full of super cheap papaya too. Yes, we eat it most days.
