My first day in the Hive / Prepping for winter / NatMed fun

After a few bad days filled with anxiety and uncertainty, I feel recovered and reloaded with energies to continue this blockchain journey. My mind went a bit crazy with corona, the downfall of Steem, lockdowns all over the world. But it’s becoming clear to me now this is all a necessary stop to what we were doing in order to start changing patterns and perspectives to keep growing. Luckily my craziness lasted no more than a day and clarity is back.

A few hours ago I enjoyed my first Discord party with the beautiful people of @naturalmedicine. I have to admit I’ve always been a bit closed to developing social relationships online (unless they had a productive purpose or a way to stay connected with people I know in the physical world), but this was just so much fun! We talked about interesting things, joked around and even played music! We also had the pleasure of listening to @trucklife-family read one of her profound and soul-touching poems.

I entered the blockchain looking for money and found a place to connect with people who I had always searched for but rarely found. We might be dispersed around the world, but here we get the wonderful chance to come together and join in tribe.

Now that Hive is finally a reality I’m looking forward to getting informed about the different changes and how to do things in the new chain. I don’t like making too many expectations about things as it builds anxiety, but I can’t help saying I’m hyped about this! I think this will be very different from Steem as the devs are now more experienced, the threat from the ninja-mine is gone and I believe the best of the community has all moved here. On the other hand there are less resources for development so I’m curious as to how that will work out.

By the way, the Hive reminds me of the first town of a game called Planescape: Torment. Actually its wrong to call it a game because it's really an interactive novel that goes so deep into the human psyche it should be considered in the curriculum for psychology and philosophy students. Even if you don't like games you should consider checking it out. "What can change the nature of man?" Travel to the multi-dimensional world of Planescape and find out...

Oh and The Hive is populated by cutthroats and criminals, lol. Relax, I'm talking about the game.

On another page, we’ve been prepping here at the farm for winter and the potential apocalypse(?). We made a lot of fig and quince jam so we’re well-stocked in the sweets department. We have a lot of pumpkin and more growing in the garden. Lots of nettles are taking over the areas where the crops once grew so that will be another source of medicine and food.

Evelina and her daughter, Paz, pealing figs for the jam.

Since I’m a nomad most of the time I usually never prepare for winter, I just travel around looking for the areas where abundance is still present. With lockdown I won’t be able to do things that way, so I’m a bit forced to slow down and participate. It was a good thing because we harvested a lot of fruit and had a lot of fun processing them, turning them into jam while talking and watching movies.

Energy management still seems to be a little rough and I know I’m not the only one having a hard time dealing with dense vibrations and dark emotions. Many of the sensitive people I talk with are having similar issues but doing their best to work it out. I also have committed to doing my best and keep the best energy possible

Breathing deeply a lot, meditating and also doing exercise is key. Drinking as much water as possible and eating lots of fruits goes a long way into keeping energy levels high.

I apologize for my last post on Steem as I allowed density to take over and do the talking. Nonetheless, all those moments are necessary as I was spending too much time online and forgetting to have a more balanced life. Writing a crap post full of negativity led me to realize this so in the end I see it had to be done.

Finally I’m releasing the idea that blogging on the blockchain will ever fill my pockets. I mean, if the token value ever goes up and it happens, awesome and thank you very much. But dedicating so much time with the hope that your effort will change my financial life is actually just stressing. From now I’ll only do this in a way that seems enjoyable to do so and focus more on keeping myself in good shape.

Alright, that’s enough rambling. Before I finish I want to thank all these amazing people for the beautiful moment a while ago and for all the meaningful interactions I’ve had with them through the blockchain:

It is all productive time! We are building something here. If you think what we do here won’t connect with our daily lives eventually, you are nuts 🥜.

So far steem, and now hive, has provided me with a whole bunch of guests for my upcoming podcast. I plan on visiting at least 3 hiveians after this whole lockdown calms down. I will likely be introducing them to my IRL community too.

Don’t take the connections you make here lightly. :-)

And be well!

Nice, I take note of your words and you're right it's all productive. My mistake was to relate productiveness with income and give it an economic and activistic connotation.

Thanks friend, look forward to those podcasts.

Love this @fenngen and was sorry to have missed the party! 2am Thai time was a stretch. I think the moment we all blog from a place of meaningful connection and joy, the abundance will follow. Abundance NEVER follows desperation and money grabbing.

Appreciating our connection and loving the thoughts of vegetables and growing food and living healthfully together, wherever we may be.

Awww, hope next time it can be coordinated in a schedule that you are able to join!!

Agreed, I think we've been educated that it's hard work and perseverance that offers the best results, but that paradigm has to shift. It's much more vibrational these days, especially here on the blockchain.

Big corona-free hug lol, and much love.

I know exactly how this feels and so many of us are struggling through this. It must be hard not to be nomadic as usual and as for my gypsy year, well, that's over too. I woke up sad this morning. Ill shake it off today.. I think we will all have ups and downs. Last night was so much fun and I felt better you were there and we were all there together.

I miss my vegetable garden!

It was a great gathering, look forward to doing more in the future!

I hope that sadness passes or at least transform into that nice kind of sadness, like the melancholy of looking out a window on a rainy day.

I miss my vegetable garden!

Maybe you could look up some permaculture project near where you're staying and go hang out there, might be fun and the closest you'll get to your garden for now :)

Love ya, sending you good vibes!

I'm so glad to hear you feel a lot better!

I guess that post was good in terms of letting out all those negative thoughts and getting a better perspective. I am not that good at releasing stress and negativity so it kind of builds up in me, which is very bad. So now that you let it go, you can focus on the good stuff.

When it comes to Hive, I think that people who are here now have so much potential to build something amazing! We just got started, let's see where this takes us.

I am looking forward to read more from you, it's interesting to see you're doing a winter prep while we just started with planting. :D

Haha, funny the seasonal change from place to place.

I think so as well!! Plus we have a lot more experience than we had in Steem, so that's nice too.

Will go see how your country life goes now :)

True that.

Glad you're feeling better, that earlier post gave me a little fright.

It can be tempting to let the reptile brain take over ( as a giant lizard, hyperzensitivosaurus, I know all about it ) but I'm glad you know better and managed to change things around mentally, justin time ( pun intended ).

It sure was fun to talk to you and many others in Discord yesterday. Your guitar music really helped to lift the spirit.

Un abrazo desde Holanda,

It was indeed a beautiful moment to join in with all of you wonderful people across the globe! Even though I had a hard time hearing you for whatever silly technological reason, the energy was there regardless. :) I, too, keep coming in and out of dark thoughts these days, but I'm going to immerse myself in the kitchen today after being lucky enough to be able to meet up with some farmers yesterday to get local produce despite the farmers market closing. Wishing us all continued good energy in these uncertain times. May we all continue to thrive on the light found in each other, no matter how far we are physically!

Hello friend! Anxiety takes us all differently. I have been feeling headache-y and not well the last couple of days. Yesterday I felt really rough. I think it is anxiety. My wife deals with it better - she gets hers out! Very visible and vocal. Maybe we all need to do that. It is good to socialise, and actually sometimes I find it easier to socialise on discord with people I've never met than with my real friends and family!

Anyhoo, just popped by from the PHC to offer some support! Take care!

You know, I've always been a little envious about your lifestyle. At least I get to live somewhat vicariously through you!

Yeah, blockchain blogging (blog-chaining?) isnt' going to make any of us rich. Mostly, for me anyway, it's a way to stay in touch with people I share some similarities with and maybe make a tip or two along the way.

Cheers!

Yeah, I think what gets me the most is the lack of a job on where to make an income... almost all the farm work is over at this time and with corona it's even harder to find work.

Nonetheless, nothing's amiss! I have food and a roof over my head, I'm healthy and I have to learn to be as grateful as possible for all this!

Hope you and your loved ones are faring well in these strange times!

We're doing well, thanks! A little stir crazy in the house, perhaps, but I've personally found solace in that there is less stress right now not having to get the boys ready for school! They can sleep in (it's kinda state mandated, in a way) and we're all the happier for it.

I can't see it making me rich in dollars, but, the real deal is having all these wonderful people around the world to share life with.

You just cannot buy that.

I am turning the page and starting new, leaving those anxious feelings behind.

Have a great day!

Yeah, that's the beauty of it and the reason I stick around :) Thanks for the tip!

I am also back to writing here post-Steemit. I have had to release the same expectation of compensation. Writing is what I love. The community is what I love. I'm dedicated to enjoying both while I'm on lockdown, and if it turns into something I can do after, I will! Thank you for this balanced post.

Oh that party was fun and just what I needed so I was not socially isolated by all this social distancing! I loved your guitar playing! I keep wondering when the next one will be!
Glad you have a place to stay that is producing so many goods - figs and quince - m-m-m!
And that you were able to let go having the purpose of being in the blockchain trying to make your living from it! I let that go (although it wasn't a living I wanted to make it was positive cash flow) quite some time ago but I love the set up of the block chain that it makes it easy to give, takes me away from a scarcity mind set to a more abundant one! I love making connections here with the engagement and being rewarded is an extra bonus!
Take care and Hive on!

This is a great post, @fenngen. I love posts about self-discovery. I think a lot of people come to the blockchain to make money and then find friends and real people to talk to. Sometimes I wonder if this is a better place to find people to connect with than almost anywhere we might go!
