How Do You React When You Hear Of An Opportunity?
Time flies but no matter how much it flies, the void in my heart will always be there. This was all because of how l reacted in the face of an opportunity that came on a gold platter.
A very rare opportunity came to my doorstep and waited for me to open my door and grab it but I was too afraid. I still can't explain the main reason for this fear but I will never allow fear to overcome me again.
Guess what?
It started from a mere casual interaction but as days turned to weeks, Yvonne decided to bring me into the industry. She handed over a script titled "Citizens To The Rescue" and asked me to play a five-minute role in the two hours movie.
I loved this idea and I know that it's an opportunity that comes once in a blue moon but;
I still missed it. I didn't believe in myself despite the fact that she saw a lot of qualities in me. I was filled with fear of the criticisms that I will get if I mess up in the role but my fear pushed me into a real mess.
I passed on the role to Chuks
I preferred to stand aside and observe instead of trying to defeat my fear.
Chuks made a lot of trial and error until he completed his five minutes role in the movie but all those series of trial and error marked the beginning of a new version of chuks. He is now an internationally recognized actor and he cannot be described as a rookie in any ramification as far as acting is concerned.
Whenever l look at Chuks, l see the punishment for my fear. I wish that l stood against my fear but nothing can be done about that at the moment.
Will Another Opportunity Come?
I didn't wait for that
I was still a student but, l didn't allow it to be a constraint. I started searching for opportunities immediately.
Anyone that have experienced how it feels to allow an opportunity to slip through their fingers will never like to have similar experience again.
That was what pushed me to change my mindset. I opened my eyes to opportunities and l have been on the lookout for any chance to augument my personal growth by adopting new skills and improving my already existing skills.
I noticed how the world was evolving so, l ventured into blogging in the third quarter of 2020 despite the fact that I had zero knowledge of what it takes to be a blogger.
The start of something new is not always easy and the same thing is applicable in everything that we are doing.
I started my journey as a blogger by taking baby steps and investing my time and other resources to it. It took a while for me to become confident enough in what l can put down but l learned alot and l can apply what l learned in any place that l see myself.
I'm ALL IN for any opportunity that crosses path with me and l will never cower in front of opportunities.

Fear eats deep into everyone that allows it to affect them and it can make someone to feel completely useless whenever such things occurs.
I'm happy that l got rid of the fear although l learned that the hard way.

You know what? Perhaps you may beat yourself up for passing that opportunity, but believe it or not, it might've been for the best, not only because of what it's meant to you in terms of self-discovery, but also because you may have gained in other ways that aren't readily visible right now. In any case, your current perspective is excellent. Keep it up!

Excellent words @drrune. Yeah he lost an opportunity but the lesson learnt means there have been self development.
I have this believe that there is always a reason behind everything. Truth they say, opportunity comes but once though they fail to say we live in a world of limitless opportunities so far we have the eye to catch and work towards them.
@kenechukwu97 I feel you have grown more as a person compared to if you had gotten the role. That lesson is a way of preparing you for something greater to come.
