Train the Youth about Emergency Response

Whenever and wherever we are we don't know if incidents happen. Having knowledge about the emergency response is essential to help the victims be saved. Doctors or nurses who can save lives are not always on-site. That's why in every place there should be someone who has the knowledge of how to implement the emergency basic response. Instead, of losing hope that the victims of accidents will be saved because there is no immediate response. Worry not if some of the bystanders have the idea of how to save lives, even just the basics.

In the province of Southern Leyte in the Philippines. There's one first Brgy. (small village) who was being trained about Emergency Response. For all the towns who received an offer for training, only our Brgy. accepted it. As time flew by it became useful because we never wanted accidents to happen. We can't avoid it because we can't predict things to happen. That's why the training helped a lot of people being saved from the accidents and because of this, it became popular. They realized how important it is to know what to do when accidents happen.

A lot of places wanted to learn the basics and that's the reason they paid for training for Emergency Response. Unlike our Brgy. took it for free since it was just the first time a certain organization offered it to the public. After this training, a certificate will be given proving that this person or that person is eligible to implement it.

Time passes really fast, those who trained are getting old and some of them left our Brgy. Then the SK Chairman or the head of the youth who has a position in a Brgy proposed it in their council. The council agreed on it because they might think it's for the future benefits in our Brgy. Every youth was being asked to join, of course, no one was being forced. It's up to them if they want to join the training or not. They thought that it's better to pass it to the new generation because they will be the ones who stay in our Brgy. Their life is not that busy like those adults that are thinking of their future or their families.

They tackled how to tie a bandage for someone who may suffer from injury, cut, or even worse like a spinal cord broken. Even the immediate response for someone might be unconscious because of too much heat or faint from high blood pressure. There were a lot but I just forgot some of them. I was not part of it since I took that training already when I took my Basic Training Course. I was there as an observer and to have additional knowledge about it. It's simple but it's very useful for future reference. Oh, I almost forgot, they also included how to rescue if someone is drowning at sea or water.

This type of training should not be neglected or ignored because we never know incidents happen. What if part of your family, neighbors, or friends can experience it in front of you. You can save lives and you will feel great by helping someone to survive. Every life in this world is a treasure after all.
