Lotus Garden Newsletter for Homesteaders. 5th August 2020

So many great recipes this week for health and just good old, tasty goodness. You have no idea how close I came to filling the features with recipes alone! I managed to control myself and bring you a bit more variety, however. I hope you enjoy and are inspired by this week's newsletter goodies.

Things happening in the community.

The @ecotrain question of the week asks us what the biggest question or mystery in our life is that we'd like answered. Another piece of news from this community is that they have now joined the @ocd incubation programme and in celebration of this have another little challenge for you. Are you ready to share simple vegan cooking on a budget, for a chance to receive an @ocdb vote?

The sacred feminine challenge from @naturalmedicine has been extended to August 8th.

Also, @simplymike's community garden journal challenge for July is in full swing. There's still time to get your entries in.

Welcoming Newcomers

Hitting the ground running with a fabulous introduction post which discusses the current @naturalmedicine topic on the sacred feminine, is @violetmoon!

Some highlights of the week

On the homestead, everything you can do for yourself to make the best use of what you have on the land is a bonus. @paradoxtma takes us through the process of producing your own boards on a budget, using a chainsaw, to make the best use of logs you might have around.

image.png

When you have an abundance of a wonderful thing, it's almost a crime to let it go to waste. @sallybeth23 shares how she makes sage infused honey and its range of uses.

image.png

Then there's more deliciousness from @amy-goodrich in the form of these chocolate, hazelnut praline squares.

Necessity is the mother of invention and so to, I believe, is desire in some circumstances. When you can't find exactly what you want to buy, then why not produce it yourself? That's what @erikah did when she wanted a bag to match some red shoes. Sometimes you just have to figure out ways of using what you have on hand to create what you need or want.

Each week one of our featured authors will be selected to be a 5% beneficiary of The Lotus Garden newsletter. This week @amy-goodrich will receive this award.

Thank you for stopping by. This week's newsletter was brought to you by @minismallholding.

OMG - sage infused honey?? HOW did I miss that!!??!! Off to check it out!

Lovely curation, as always, @minismallholding - love to see the blend of ideals and pragmatic, practical posts about people DOING stuff in the world, in their gardens and on their homesteads.
