Mindful Monday and Though Our Minds May Be Full Let's Not Lose Sight of the Present Moment...

There is so much going on right now with all these unprecedented happenings around the world. So much so that it is easy for our minds to become get caught up and preoccupied with it all, with worries and concerns arising. It is like a black cloud and often it can cause us to miss what is really happening in the present moment.

Let me explain this a little better by telling you a realization I had come to the other day.

After a day of being bombarded with Corona issues and some other family stuff I was beginning to be filled with concerns and worries, not in the best of spaces. This is how I ended my day. Then a funny thing happened the next morning, when I first awoke after a good nights sleep, I had forgotten about it. I was getting ready to face the day. Yes I had just forgotten about it!

This made me stop and think about how different my realities were from the evening before and my awakening and I began to question -

What really is my reality here?

There was no virus here, my family is healthy, we have everything we need and my life is quite peaceful here in my forest home. I realized too that I could choose whether I get caught up in all that is going on or I could live more in the present moment being grateful for what I have.

This gave me a lot of clarity and I more regularly checked in with myself trying to, as Eckhart Tolle would say:

Be Here Now!

Not that I wasn't keeping myself informed but I would take action where I could and as for the things I could not change, I let them be.

My realization really bought home how fortunate I was and it deepened my appreciation.

Why not give this a try -

stop, breath, check in with yourself and see what your true reality is at the moment. Be honest with yourself. Where is your mind at? Is there some conditioning coming up bringing a certain reaction? Even check to see if you are responding or is it just reacting.

Sometimes it's just a matter of breathing and allowing yourself to get more from your present moments.

May those moments be filled with peace and happiness!

Thanks for stopping by!

"But the things I could not change, I let them be."

If EVER I decided to get a tattoo (haha... NEVER gonna happen!) it would be a toss up between "Be Here Now" or "Let It Be".

Wise worlds in troubled times. Stay well and content in your mountain refuge. A timely post, much appreciated.

It's so easy to get caught up with all the information we receive daily and go down the rabbit hole thinking of the millions of ifs that could potentially affect us. Coming back to the present moment is not only a necessary spiritual practice, but it's also pragmatic and useful to deal with what we can really tend to.

As a saying goes:

Tend to the garden you can reach with your hands.

Lovely saying!
Hey where were you today - you missed the NM Discord Party! There was another guitar player there, @joseacabrerav , that shared some beautiful music! It would have been wonderful to hear you two play together! We're going to have another one same time next week Fri. 7pm UTC
