Hello there nature lovers of Hive! I have seen that my citrus fruits, locally called as kalamansi, were already ripe for harvest. I need it for my ginger tea.

HEALTH BENEFITS

It's a good combination of juice and natural medicine to boost our immunity system. It is said that a mixtureture of both can help fight the covid19 virus.

PREPARATION
I squeezed about a dozen kalamansi over 1 liter of water. I purposely separated the process instead of squeezing the Kalamansi into the hot ginger tea which I usually do.

According to the doctor's interview in one of the TV programs, was that it is not good to squeeze out the juice of Kalamansi right into the hot tea because it will destroy the natural enzymes of ginger and Kalamansi juice.

See, they're all fresh!

I have to climb on the rooftop of Lablab's doghouse so I could reach the branches and pluck them myself. I knew that the leaves have little insect bores but I did not mind at all. I was happy with my little harvest that I haven't noticed the red spots that began to protrude on my skin. It was so itchy! I've thought of those tiny worms among those leaves! My bad. How I hate taking the dreaded antiallergy medicine because it makes me sleepy for hours.

NATURAL MEDICINE
Instead, I washed my arms (left and right)with soap, then rubbed a handful of rock salt. Afterwards, I got the empty kalamansi and rubbed them on the affected area. I continued the process until the itch and red spots subsided.

Getting rid of the itching took me a while. In times like this, I would get a raw ginger then slice it a flat manner and heat the base part with a candlestick. Press gently over the affected areas. The process maybe primitive, but it works especially when you're far away from the nearest pharmacy.

That is why I have a potted ginger beside my terrace for medicinal purpose and of course, for my kitchen needs.

Oh we have those tiny citrus in Thailand too!! Yuum!! And you're right, that ginger is a superb anti-inflammatory - did you know that rubbing raw ginger on the skin also really helps? Salt for the win! - If in doubt, apply spit and salt. LOL. An anti-inflammatory diet makes more sense than allergy pills - how right you are.

Thank you for the acknowledgement! Well, whenever I had a scratch, I tend to do that (touch our tongue with our finger and rub to the scratch) Elders of long ago said that it has natural antibiotic in it. Lol! Of course, we're not encouraging that especially in this time of pandemic.

As for that citrus fruit, I have personally experienced that when my son at 2 yrs old sores on his head. I know that the acid content will make the bruises dry. So one morning, I bathed him then immediately rubbed the fruit which I've cut diagonally. It only took seconds but so quick and fast because I know I know how painful it could be on his part. Naturally, he cried and I hugged him tight telling him that the pain would be gone soon. True to my words, the sores went dry the following day onwards.
Actually, it was my last recourse because I've already tried many creams and ointments which only made his condition worse. The natural healing power of kalamansi put an end to my son's ordeal. It pays to be more curious on the healing of natural medicines. It could be just around the corner!

Yes dear, it means that if you boil a cup of smashed fresh ginger, don't throw it away because there are still some juice in it that you can use just in case.

It is true that you do not squeeze calamansi in a hot water with tea and ginger as the nutrients and the natural efficacy will evaporate. And oh! calamansi works wonders with skin allergies so with the salt. The moringa olifera also good for skin allergies.

Indeed my dear. I listened to this lady doctor over the TV program and learned a lot including some beauty tips, some of which were practiced by me during my younger days. I now realized that the more we should need to do to at least slow down the thing called "aging process"! Lol!
